Can I use a non-quick fit band like a 935 band? I feel like I could get it on the pin but how would you remove if it is supported?
Yes, bearing in mind that quick release spring bars have thin tips like most non-quick release ones, so there will be some play because the tips of the spring bars are narrower than the holes in…
Is it compatible with the (de facto) standard watch straps we can see on many dumbwatches?
Since the Fenix 6 line uses spring bars (albeit fat ones), any traditional watch band that is the correct…
Yes you can. And on the F6 you don't need any screwdriver to remove the pins because they are fastened through a spring mechanism.
As the pins are spring loaded you can use any normal strap if you would choose so. Pins can easily be removed with a simple tool https://youtu.be/ubU9bujiv-I?t=85 (or by thin pliers etc). Just keep an eye on the actual thickness of the strap, as a really thick leather strap might not fit the gap between pin and watch case.....
Good to know. Do you know more details on compatibility?
* Is it compatible with the (de facto) standard watch straps we can see on many dumbwatches? This would be a great improvement over Fenix 5 series.
* Is it also compatible with the QuickRelease (not QuickFit) mechanism we can see on some other watches (e.g. Vivoactive 3)? There seem to be lot more QuickRelease bands than QuickFit.
* Is it true also for fenix 6S? I suppose so.
Of course, even if the mechanism matches, there are two more things to match:
* Strap width
* Space: If you have a thick strap, there might be too low space, especially on 6S
