Garmin.com shipping delay

First time ordering on garmin.com - a DLC Sapphire F6 a week ago, at which point “Processing Time” was 1-3 days. It still hasn’t shipped and now the product page shows 1-2 weeks. Have others had similar issues?

  • Guessing the 1-3 days was an estimate, but at some point shortly after you ordered it the estimate got revised to 1-2 weeks. If you really need it soon, you could always cancel the order (I think?) and order it via Amazon prime or someone else who has it guaranteed in stock. Unless you used a health insurance discount, in which case your order has to be from Garmin directly and you'll have to wait however long that takes. Hopefully you get your watch soon, it's worth the wait, hang in there!

  • Before you cancel, call them and see what their inventory is like.

  • Yep, health insurance discount. The other weird thing is for some variants it says “Processing time x days” while for others “Estimated availability is y days”

  • I called... they said the DLC Sapphire variant of the Fenix 6 was backordered until 9/20 (next friday) the non-sapphire black version is currently in-stock.

  • I just got my 6x pro black on black non sapphire version.  I ordered last Thur morning and it said processing until this Tue and shipped.  so 1 week.

  • Thanks! Would have been nice if they sent an update email and didn’t charge my card until shipment

Same thing happened to me. I knew for sure the watch had to ship since they charged the card, right! Wrong.... ended up shipping days after the card was charged, but, shipped none the less...

    Email update was never sent.

    I'm still a happy camper...

    Hope your watch arrives soon!

Same thing happened to me!  On sept 25, i ordered the Fenix 6x Saphire.  At the time it said 7-10 days processing time...not a huge deal.   Well then i realized card was charged, but never received watch, nor tracking #.  Called yesterday and apparenly she said they are "on the boat over here" and new days in Nov 1.   Not happy that they charged me, plus never gave an update.

  • I ordered my Fenix 6s Sapphire from Garmin directly because I had a discount through my insurance back on 9/21/19 it said 3-5 weeks processing which wasn't a big deal but it was available to order.  At the time they had a pending charge which soon fell off my card. After I ordered the watch was no longer available to order and says expected availability 3-5 weeks. Now over 5 weeks later it still hasn't shipped but I emailed them and they said it was expected around November 8 but not guaranteed. Still not a big deal. I have a watch I like well enough but I am upgrading the one I have since it is having some battery issues after a few years of use. I noticed today 11/1/19 that my card has another pending charge from them but my status on the website has not updated to shipped. Does that mean they are getting ready to ship since it is the second pending charge? Thank you!

  • There's something amiss at Garmin USA HQ. The reps are kind, they try to be helpful, but either their system, their shipping team, their warehouse team, or their IT crew are dropping the ball really badly.

When I gave it a go a while back, the site said "3-5 days" until the watch would be available. I called at 6 days, and the very nice rep asked around and said it was 1-3 and they'd update the site soon. He also offered to take my order by email, but that I couldn't use any discount. I was waiting for Garmin.com specifically for a discount, and 1-3 days was an easy wait.

At 4 days, I called again. They said give them 24 hours. I called in 24 hours, and they said they were still on the truck and once they were taken off they'd turn it on, so give them 24 hours. I called again and they said it was a website issue and the button SHOULD be on, so please wait 24 hours. I did again, and then I got an email saying they didn't realize those watches were already accounted for with backorders and that they had no clue when the watch would be in.

It took them 4 more days to change the site to say "3-5 weeks" instead of "1-3 days."

This leads me to believe the arrival estimates are done by a person handling it manually, not an actual shipping program. This also leads me to guess that the "Add to Cart" button may be added/removed manually by someone (that's only a guess, since the reps seem convinced the cart button would arrive as soon as they scanned product off the truck). If that's the case, then add on top that they are taking orders by paper via email, they are likely both overselling the product (perhaps by a LOT) when the cart button is added, and simultaneously underestimating processing time.

Either way, the delays led me to losing my 35% discount for a 20% discount (and at one point that went away entirely!) I emailed to ask if they could do me a solid and apply the original discount given all the hassles, and they said no.

So again... Nice people, kind people, I even felt the first guy went out of his way to make my experience as good as it could be. But there's something clearly wrong with their system that needs fixing yesterday.
