Two Sapphire Fenix 6 Pro’s, backlight / contrast issues

I bought two fenix 6’s today, both are the Carbon grey DLC coated with sapphire glass.

Have a look at these photos, my wife's is on the left hand side and mine the right. Her looks very yellow compared to mine which looks far crisper and sharper. Both have backlight set to 50%.

Any thoughts on if there’s a setting other than backlight that could cause this before I go back to the shop where I bought them?

  • no worries Tess.. :)

difficult to understand may be yes.. incorrect grammer.. not sure

  • Please correct me if I'm wrong here.  I'm not trying to argue, but trying to clarify my stance.  If you're saying anyone can post any question for opinions on these forums, then we are in total agreement.  My point about shouldn't type question is probably better stated as an unnecessary question.  "What temperature should I bake a pizza in the oven?"  and "Do I want pepperoni or sausage on my pizza?" are both questions, but they don't carry the same weight.  Just as deciding to return your watch because of a blueish tint, it doesn't matter if 90% of the replies tell you to have sausage.  If you want pepperoni, you're going to have pepperoni no matter what anyone says.  Therefore, the question was unnecessary.  This is what Phil said and what others that aren't happy with the display have said also.  For some reason, these same people are now condemning, for a lack of a better word, Phil for saying the same thing they've said all along.  That's the issue I'm pointing out.

Honestly? I think the above questions have a higher importance level right now.

Not sure about the temperature but I do like pepperoni on my pizza, you know those little fried up pepperoni’s that are nothing but greasy cups of pure awesomeness?

Have you been to Prince’s pizza in NY?

  • I haven't as it's a bit too far to go. But we do have an awesome pizza shop in Napier - https://www.vincispizza.co.nz. Problem is I'm not sure whether I should like it or not. What do you think? Is it up to standard or should I be disappointed and ask for a refund or replacement even if I'm happy?

just wondering if anyone have seen a fenix 6S sapphire with a good display?

  • I have. I'm happy. I don't need anyone to tell me otherwise.

    Fenix 6S sapphire?

  • F6 Sapphire Pro

And no I will not post any pictures, neither will I answer any questions about the display.

    I am happy with it.

I don't need to be told that I should not be happy with it.

I'm too busy swimming, cycling and running with it - (well apart from now as I'm procrastinating when I should be finishing my PhD and a presentation I have to deliver tomorrow - but this thread is much more entertaining Joy )

Haha.  Smart move.  I got suckered trying to be nice.  However your backlight looks, I can predict the response:

"That is Sh-t.  A perfect piece of Sh_t.  In fact, you could have saved yourself the money by taking a sh_t in your hand and smearing it on your wrist.  Because that is what you have."

BTW, that's a rough paraphrase of a comment I read about someone's bike in a mountain biking forum. :)

The dynamic in "gear" forums of any kind (music gear, astronomy gear, cycling, anything) descends to this level of nonsense, eventually (not to say that there aren't real issues, but Geez)

Like you say, it's pretty entertaining if you take it for what it is.
