Two Sapphire Fenix 6 Pro’s, backlight / contrast issues

I bought two fenix 6’s today, both are the Carbon grey DLC coated with sapphire glass.

Have a look at these photos, my wife's is on the left hand side and mine the right. Her looks very yellow compared to mine which looks far crisper and sharper. Both have backlight set to 50%.

Any thoughts on if there’s a setting other than backlight that could cause this before I go back to the shop where I bought them?

Just bought my F6X Sapphire, S/N: 63413XXXX screen is perfect black, not blue-ish whites or wash out blacks. Viewing angles are almost perfect, like IPS or AMOLED. Brightness was at 50%, is not super bright even at 100% but I rather have this than the blue-ish screen.

Very happy with it, the buttons are very clicky and is very light. Looks big on my wrist but is not uncomfortable.

SN 63427 This looks TONS better than my 63402 that I initially bought but now im getting paranoid.

The viewing angle on the 3rd picture is fine but is it too washed out?

In person the watch face looks even darker. However my first 6x was not a sapphire.

    Backlight at 20%

Regarding your comment a while back apologising. I actually didnt think you got enough credit for that.

I saw that you argued for a while for the 'other side' and then clearly took a step back and reassessed.

That took balls and I thought a few other people who have been following this would have commented.

Anyway I noticed you ended up getting a better screen in the end so well done and all the best!

Still no 6S sapphires with good screens? :/

  • It's the same horrible blueish display. I changed the watch 3 times with no succes.

I would buy the watch from a supplier that is high volume for Garmin if you can. That way you will hopefully get the new issue.

Mine was only just delivered to the jeweller on 1st May from Garmin hence the high serial number

    Good luck Fizz!

  • I had 6x pro solar 63413XXXX that had almost perfect screen but I needed to replace it due to broken solar charging. Replacement is as good as the original or even better. 63417XXXX. Maybe I'm just lucky with contrast or solar versions are not so affected by this issue.

According to earlier posts watches after 63407 are when Garmin altered something to improve the backlight however bad apples still arise sporadically

Another thing that has changed in the new models is the menu display.

Nothing major at all but I noticed that the icons and some of the text is larger (bear in mind I had the 6X and now 6X sapphire. Not sure if this is replicated on other models).

I wouldnt of course swap for a new one just for this, more of an FYI

Massive difference in reflections between Gorilla and Sapphire! I had read about this but didnt realise it would be so apparent.

Gorilla glass display does look a lot better in the day. Zero reflection.

The problem is, how long would it remain like this without scratches?

Anyway apologies for the highjack, back to 'blue screen' issues!
