Two Sapphire Fenix 6 Pro’s, backlight / contrast issues

I bought two fenix 6’s today, both are the Carbon grey DLC coated with sapphire glass.

Have a look at these photos, my wife's is on the left hand side and mine the right. Her looks very yellow compared to mine which looks far crisper and sharper. Both have backlight set to 50%. 

Any thoughts on if there’s a setting other than backlight that could cause this before I go back to the shop where I bought them?

  • Just bought a 6X Pro with S/N 63420 and its as blue as it can be, gave it back just 1 minute after unpacking it in the store. The cashier looked kind of confused :D So the "newer" Serialnumbers are no indicator for better or worse displays unfortunately :( 

  • What's about "made in"? If they are using different kind of display supplier probably they are using different kind of displays in different factories.

    Thank you for your message and the sending of the photos. We compared the display contrasts again with one of our Garmin fenix 6X-Pro and Sapphire comparison devices in the house. As already mentioned in my previous mail, here you can also see slight differences from the display contrast to your sent photos. After consultation with our team leader, we still see no apparent reason to exchange or take back the device. Of course, you can also contact the retailer where you bought your Garmin fenix 6X Pro and Sapphire directly, regarding a return or exchange.   • After 4 Mails with Garmin, they wanna change the watch. But they said, that it's possible that the new watch has also the difference problem between the display. I think, they didnt want to find a Solution. 

  • Unfortunately they cannot find a solution I think... but is good that they will change yours. 

    Which e-mail did you use to write them? 

  • The Contact Formular on Garmins Homepage. But the first contact was with the Phone. After the call, they send me an Mail to send pictures. I hope, that i get a better watch. But i think, when i open the box with the watch from Garmin next week, it's blue like all the other watches i bought from Amazon and Media Markt. But we will see.. 

  • My old one(left site), and after long searching my new one. 6XPro(left) s/n 63415 bouth on amazon.de 17.02 vs bought today 6X sapphire s/n 63414 screen is amazing! Bought on selekt.online Polish shop in Sopot.

    Siema, jak ktoś z rodaków poszukuje dobrego wyświetlacza to polecam ten sklep, ja zjeździłem wszystkie sklepy w trójmieście, przejrzałem dosłownie jakieś 15 zegarków i dopiero kiedy zajechałem do Sopotu, to sprzedawca odrazu znał temat i z uśmiechem na twarzy zaproponował mi model z świetnym wyświetlaczem, no i zrobiłem mały upgrade do wersji sapphire bo i rabat dobry dostałem Slight smile

    Hehe dzięki za info. Myślałem czy by nie podjechać do tego sklepu (jestem z gdańska), ale stwierdziłem, że mam w dupie Garmina skoro twierdzą, że fatalny ekran to żaden problem. Obraziło mnie to jako konsumenta i oddałem fenixa 6 pro, którego kupiłem w x-kom :) Poczekam na następnego fenixa, może już nie będzie takiej loterii. Gratulacje z okazji ładnego ekranu :)

    I have tried 3 devices up to date with serial numbers 63403xxxx (x2) and 63420xxxx (x1) and all 3 have the same back light display issue. This is seriously the worst experience ever and GARMIN is just refusing to acknowledge they have substandard quality products in the market. I cannot believe some people accepts this. I have returned all 3 and will NEVER spend my money on it again. There are better quality devices out there!

    You did the right thing my friend. (I did the same, but only after 1 watch - I didn't have patience for this *** ;))

    The policy of GARMIN on this problem is just childish - let's pretend that everything is ok, and maybe people will get over it. LOL
