Both with GPS or paired phone sync, the time is off by 7 seconds on my fenix 6!
Do others have the same issue?

Yes, something is going on, but I don't know exactly what. This morning, as is my habit, I casually compared the displayed time on my 6X Pro with my time reference and saw the same thing you did -…
Sync using GPS does not correct displayed time.
Again this morning, my fenix 6X Pro was displaying time about 10 seconds slow. To correct this, I tried the following:
1. Sync with Garmin Connect Mobile…
I’m in no way defending Garmin and we all have our pet peeves. If the Garmin watch being off by 6-7 seconds because it isn’t syncing up properly and that’s the worst issue at hand for the F6, then I’ll take it as I know it will get fixed. That said, I have the F6 Sapphire and when I sync it up with time.gov, its spot on.
Finally, after multiple sync thru iPhone & GPS, nothing changed.
I recorded a one hour activity run this morning : Fenix 6X is now spot on. No more time gap with reference
HTH same here. 6 seconds off this morning and by synchronizing with the phone.
Sync with GPS it is now spot on. So no big deal.
6 seconds off ? It's a Fenix "6 seconds off" ? ;-)
from that perspective they’re getting better, now it’s a constant 6 seconds. The predecessor model was... wait for it... 5+ seconds off
Sync using GPS does not correct displayed time.
Again this morning, my fenix 6X Pro was displaying time about 10 seconds slow. To correct this, I tried the following:
1. Sync with Garmin Connect Mobile - no difference, still about 10 seconds slow
2. Sync using GPS - no difference, still about 10 seconds slow
2. Sync using phone - no difference, still about 10 seconds slow Note: iPhone 7 Plus was displaying correct time
3. One minute activity using GPS + Galileo after assuring good GPS fix - no difference, still about 10 seconds slow
Here's what it looked like compared to my time reference after an additional Sync using GPS:
Time was most certainly NOT synced!
Then, I did what I did yesterday to fix displayed time - I synced with Garmin Express on my PC: time was finally displayed correctly within one second of reference.
I find it unacceptable that if the displayed time is incorrect, it cannot be "fixed" by any onboard or portable (phone) method - it must be synced with a computer.
Something is definitely NOT working.
HTH
I have exact same problem, doesn't sync with GPS correctly, hope that garmin fix it ASAP, now I'm still about 3 sec ahead.
Does anyone has a solution ? I got a RMA number, but think that could be solved by software update by garmin.
Most of everyone is having the same issue, so sending it in and expecting a different result will surely disappoint you. Wait for a software update.
hi all,
I compared the situations reading the image EXIF timestamp inserted by iPhone when a photo or a screenshot is taken.
iPhone sync with NTP (Network Time Protocol) time from the network.
this is the time displayed and synched in iPhone:
a screenshot of 'Emerald Time" app (one of the only that display seconds) shows perfect sync of iPhone with the NTP servers.
6X pro is off by one second - a screenshot of the photo taken and the timestamp of the phot from EXIF
if I try to read the GPS time, I see "GNSS status" app has a normal 16-17 sec off by the leap seconds (exactly 18) ***
*** GPS, Global Positioning System time, is the atomic time scale implemented by the atomic clocks in the GPS ground control stations and the GPS satellites themselves. GPS time was zero at 0h 6-Jan-1980 and since it is not perturbed by leap seconds GPS is now ahead of UTC by 18 seconds
... everything seems to me in sync...
On my iphone, there is no delay when taken a screenshot:
