Update September 25, 2024:
Our engineers have discovered a concern with incident detection remaining active, after ending an activity recording. They have released a BETA software fix, version 18.15 that…
Hello,
I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with rapid battery drain since installing Software version 18.14. Our engineers would like to investigate this concern further. Since this researching this…
I do understand the concern with battery drain. And this is something that Garmin is concerned with addressing as well. It is not a question of how many people are reporting this, but since it doesn't…

Quite simply: Garmin has not created a ticket. Obviously…
I am now experiencing battery drain for the first time after latest update
I am experiencing the same battery issues with my EPIX 2. I am draining bout 15% a day with no activities logged and with gesture mode display. I do not have any wifi or high draining settings turned on
My Epix Pro has a battery drain of 0.53%/hr, which is probably normal behavior
A mi me pasa lo mismo. Desde la actualización de firmware el drenaje de la batería es dramático. Creo voy a abrir un ticket el Garmin Iberia.
I installed 18.14 five days ago on my 15 month old 51mm Gen 2 Pro. No battery issues so far after recording trail running, walking, yoga and three indoor bike rides.
I did shutdown (long press on the light button) both before and after applying the update. Charged to 100% three days ago, since which the three bike rides, and now at 93%. I use gesture display and have phone notifications enabled for every app on the phone. I have never installed beta firmware on this watch.
I followed the instructions in this thread and installed the batterygraph app since I did not have any other recollection than having to charge earlier than expected. I'm did not exercise much but are using AOD with a built-in watchface.
What you can see is that from 100% the charge was linear over 4 nights,
then the watch got a bit of a change loading while some music was downloaded, almost equal to 1h20 of gps and music.
After the exercise the discharge is steeper at which point it triggered the powersave mode (which nags you every waking hour so I gave in about the 5th time.) so I will have to charge tonight.
It depends on your settings: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=SYHHBWNgOL2oz1ZJYiV8L6
Before the update I used to get around 0.3/h in general use, with gestures. Now is more than 0.5%/h. For my settings it's is not normal. But it depends...
Change log for version 18.15
From the beta forum?
Software 18.15 now available for your watches! We are at 50% rollout of this Beta update.
I don't have incident detection enabled but still get battery drain. So that release wouldn't fix my issue
I'm going to try the 30 seconds hold light thing down (done that), then doing an activity tomorrow/Weds, and then going to monitor again
Failing that I'll send in all my details of the issue to the engineers as per the request from Garmin-Laurie
After this is fixed, I will just turn off auto updates. I didn't want to be a beta tester but issuing inadequately tested updates with issues still outstanding just turns every user that has auto updates on into a beta tester
