If i preform a timesync with gps, i see the time is getting synct and the watch shows a green circle after syncing and the actual (correct) time, but if i leave the time-sync menu and go to the watch-face, i see still the old (wrong) time. Also, after starting a activity with GPS fix, the time on the watchface is nog synct.

I use the standard Garmin watchface, and i have this problem sinds a while and with serveral firmware versions. Now running the latest.

forums.garmin.com/.../v25-11-stable-is-a-disaster-3-months-of-critical-crashes-on-epix-pro-navigation-music-activities

Unfortunately, I can still reproduce most of those bugs, including crashes during navigation, music playback, and activities. On top of that, the round-trip routing function is completely broken now as well, despite being advertised as a key feature.

What can we do to get an accurate device and reliable software? Do we just buy a different brand like Coros or Suunto? When you pay flagship prices, you expect stable code, not to be a perpetual beta tester.

To make matters worse, Garmin is likely preparing to release the Fenix 9 soon. This means our current devices will get even less development time and support, if that is even possible. I don't have high hopes that this watch will ever work as advertised, yet I paid 1000 euros, 2.8 years ago.

Green Contours - Slope Percentage / Elevation Map - Cycling between them

Hi there ...
can anybody verify that Intensity minutes are counting strange after last update?

Almost the same activity (running), two weeks ago and yesterday:

Heart rate, calories, training effect number etc. almost the same, yesterday not even a minute (completely missing that data). And every other activities in the last few days (a few with more effort), same thing - much less intensity minutes.

I am annoyed after some updates which change our preferences automaticaly.

Why Garmin team in 2026 cannot keep our preferences ? It's not the first time.

Right now, I have serious problem with navigation when you choose "Go back to your start point' during Hiking or Trail run activity : It says "Maps do not have routable roads"

I was in the forest and It was dangerous because I trust my watch to get back me at home. I was often using this option

Why it says you're not on routable roads when you're in main forest path or official hiking road. Only car road are working while you're hiking or trail running !

I cannot figure out how to find it. I lost maybe 1 hour !

Please help me ! I will be in Mont Blanc in two weeks alone.

Auto-lap triggers a full dark/black screen, lap data does not display, requires waiting or button press to recover

About half of the time when I start a running activity, I get a toast at the top of the screen saying "External HRM Connected." Half the time there's nothing, and the pre-activity screen just says "Auto-select" with an A in a box.

How can I tell if the external HRM is active in these cases, and why doesn't the toast always appear?

I’m hoping to get some clarity on an issue that’s been affecting my training for several weeks now. I’m using an Epix (Next Gen) paired with the Garmin Dual‑HRM chest strap, and I’ve discovered that the watch will not record VO₂ Max or other advanced performance metrics when the chest strap is used.

Even when my rides meet all the published criteria for VO₂ Max (duration, intensity, HR stability, etc.), the Epix only updates VO₂ Max if I switch back to wrist‑based HR.

The problem is that the wrist HR on the Epix is extremely inconsistent for indoor cycling. I’m seeing:

• sudden 20–30 bpm jumps or drops within 1–2 seconds
• HR values that are physiologically impossible
• long periods where HR is 20–30 bpm higher than expected
• “Recovery HR” values that make no sense

This makes wrist HR unusable for training analysis, but the chest strap — which gives accurate HR — disables VO₂ Max and other metrics entirely.

I can’t find any documentation from Garmin stating that:

• VO₂ Max requires wrist HR
• chest straps are not supported for VO₂ Max
• advanced metrics won’t work when using a Garmin‑branded HRM

This feels like a major limitation that isn’t disclosed anywhere.

My questions:

1. Is this a known issue with the Epix (Next Gen)?
2. Is it expected behaviour that VO₂ Max won’t update when using a chest strap?
3. Are there any plans to allow chest‑strap HR to be used for VO₂ Max and other metrics?
4. Is there a workaround that allows accurate HR (via chest strap) and full performance metrics?

I’ve already contacted Garmin Support but haven’t received a response yet, so I’m hoping someone here — users or moderators — can shed some light on this.

Thanks in advance.

Where is the 'No, continue with open connection' option...?
I've read the manuals and they are of no help on this matter.

I cannot establish an ANT+ connection anymore, I had it previously successfully done and used it, but unfortunately I unpaired the watch and HRM, and now after the 26.09 update on the watch it's no longer possible to pair the HRM 600 with the watch using ANT+.

Using BLE mode (2 blinks at HRM sensor + pairing mode) works just fine, but when I switch to ANT+ (three blinks at sensor) the watch will not connect. The watch finds the sensor and suggests BLE, but there is no way to say NO to BLE other than cancel the whole pairing process.

I've removed the sensor from the watch, rebooted, soft reset the watch and always the same outcome. I wish I would not need to do a hard reset. The sensor is not connected to any other devices.
If I connect the sensor with BLE, and then try to change the connection type, the watch says to remove the sensor and pair it again (which is what I've tried and the outcome is always the same). I've tried with the module on and off the belt, worn the belt wet with the sensor attached, and always the same result. Either I'm missing some step or there's a software bug in the open connection pairing process.

I prefer the ANT+ connection to BLE because of battery drain issue when BLE is in use:

Before switching to HRM 600 from HRM Pro Plus I charged my watch every two weeks, but after taking the HRM 600 into use using BLE pairing, I needed to charge the watch every 5-6 days. When switching the HRM 600 to ANT+ connection I was back to charging appr. 13 days. So A BIG DIFFERENCE on the connection type of the HRM 600 sensor.

I know I can pair the devices with BLE and always manually switch the connection off when not doing an activity, but what a hassle each time switching it on and off.

The HRM 600 and EPIX gen2 both support the open connection, and now connecting the HRM600 using it has been (accidentally?) disabled by forcing to use BLE.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a quick sw fix or having someone guide me how to get the ANT+ pairing working again!

Can't dismiss DSW

I'm unable to dismiss the suggestion using the Start/Stop button as it does nothing.
Settings -> System -> Time -> Time Sync by Phone and GPS both tried, to no avail

In both cases, the Epix device shows that it has identified the correct timezone (London UTC +01:00) but the display always shows UTC and does not adjust for the +01:00 (daylight savings)

Have tried a forced device sync from Garmin Connect and Garmin Explore apps to no avail

Have tried device Power Off - Power On cycle

Under Settings -> Clocks -> ALT. TIME ZONES I can add a 'London' timezone and the time shows correctly there (ie UTC +01:00), but not on the main watch display - that is always stuck at UTC

Please help!
