I don't understand why Garmin released this version if in beta program it is fully bug inside....and the major issue is battery drain!!
Anyone has tried to update at this version?

Hello,
I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with rapid battery drain since installing Software version 18.14. Our engineers would like to investigate this concern further. Since this researching this…
I do understand the concern with battery drain. And this is something that Garmin is concerned with addressing as well. It is not a question of how many people are reporting this, but since it doesn't…

Quite simply: Garmin has not created a ticket. Obviously…
I am now experiencing battery drain for the first time after latest update
FWIW I've never used my watch for music. I always use my phone for that.
Update September 25, 2024:
Our engineers have discovered a concern with incident detection remaining active, after ending an activity recording. They have released a BETA software fix, version 18.15 that will fix this concern. This will eventually be released as a Public update, but in the mean time, if you are experiencing this issue, you can feel free to install this update.
Companies release hardware and software with known bugs all the time.. I would say everything released form any company is released with known bugs. Its a risk/reward decision.
Some bugs are worse than others. And when one of your key selling points over products like smart watches is battery life, and you have a battery life issue flagged in beta testing but release an update without addressing it, you are going to lose goodwill.
It was a very poor commercial decision to release it with the bug unaddressed despite being flagged. Once it is fixed, I'll turn off auto updates and my next watch in the future won't be 'whatever the latest Garmin is'. I'll be researching far more carefully what Coros or others offer and the extent to which they release software with significant bugs
I've become far less 'brand sticky' following this
Thank you, Laurie! I will wait for public release but has anyone installed this beta fix and does it work?
I have a problem with the AWO, since this update i have the following problem. My watch is in Always on mode, no battery mode on. if the watch face dims (just a garmin watch face pre instalt) normaly u see all details, but after this update it dims to only time and hart rate. After contact with garmin, they say u have to send watch.... great service
It’s not hardware related. It’s a bug introduced in the 18.14 update. Has the same problem with the heart rate complication. If you change the heart rate complication for any other one you won’t face this bug.
Garmin-Laurie is this bug reported and taken care of?
from left to right, normal dim, normal full light, dim after update
Yes that is the bug, had the exact same problem. Reverted back to 17.28.
damn, i just reset all data and stuff on my watch, i have gladly taken photo of every thing, so i have go to all settings and stuff because garmin netherlands couldnt say it was a bug.. its gonna be a looong night
