Update September 25, 2024:
Our engineers have discovered a concern with incident detection remaining active, after ending an activity recording. They have released a BETA software fix, version 18.15 that…
Hello,
I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with rapid battery drain since installing Software version 18.14. Our engineers would like to investigate this concern further. Since this researching this…
I do understand the concern with battery drain. And this is something that Garmin is concerned with addressing as well. It is not a question of how many people are reporting this, but since it doesn't…

Quite simply: Garmin has not created a ticket. Obviously…
I am now experiencing battery drain for the first time after latest update
Garmin make great hardware? Garmin put simple hardware and simple software. Nothing more.
the fact that the Epix line is being phased out
It will not be phased out differently than for Fenix 7. They share the same software; only the display type that differs. Epix will be supported equally long as Fenix 7 will be supported.
Hello, I tried the reset of the watch as suggested by some people and this seems to have fixed the issue for me.
Understood. But I'm sure their main software focus right now is the fenix 8 line, and it may be a while before they get to these types of issues, and I wanted to return the Epix before the return period ran out.
Does anyone know if Coros watches have the same issues with software updates being 'buggy'? I'm just wondering if this is a Garmin specific thing, or a market wide thing?

I've tried Coros, Polar, Suunto, AWU, and GWA. They all have bugs, but Garmin has more features than anyone else right now.
If this is of any help.
My epix gen 2 is the same went from 10 days of battery from my daily use down to 5
I just received my 3rd Epix2 (replacement), this time a Sapphire. No problem at all with the battery after update, on the contrary…I never saw such low consumption, unbelievable…
Same problem here. Around 0.5 %/h or 12% per day. I used to get around 5% per day. Already deactivated Garmin Share and restarted a few times but that didn't fix it.
I wonder why they only started collecting data a few days ago when the bug was reported several times more than a month ago in the beta phase.
Did they even check this bug during beta?
Epic Pro Gen 2 Sapphire 42mm - updated to 18.14 via WiFi and have no battery drain issues - getting about 9 days with HR and PulseOx sensors on but not many activities or GPS.
Seems the same as before with 17.28. No issues for me.
