18.07 alpha firmware????.

For a reason I cannot see anywhere on the web. My watch has got 18.07 and it's an alpha build according to the watch. I wasn't signed up to the beta either so even more mysterious since alpha enrollment isn't a thing any more. Anyone got any ideas what's happened?

Tbh I didn't I just clicked verify answer by a mistake. I'll be honest and say my first experience of the garmin forum in a while has been pretty negative. Mostly off topic, mostly argumentative and some more keen to be behind a keyboard than anything else. Also the fact I can't just upload a file is silly.

we are locked with 17.xx beta re-starting again and again.

Maybe we will see it when the real next Beta Phase will start for 18.xx or more.

Curious. But since this is a pre-owned device (?), it can't be some new production fw. I'd check this with Garmin directly.

Like someone mentioned, is this pre-owned? There may be people with special access to the alpha software for dogfooding, Garmin developers/engineers, Garmin employee's, reviewers, etc...I second the notion you should contact Garmin.

It is preowned and I did call garmin who suggested this might be a previously enrolled device. That said its slightly annoying that I hadn't enrolled the device and am now stuck with this firmware unless I plug it in and download stuff I don't really care to.

Even if it was enrolled before, your version doesn't officially exist. Maybe support didn't pay attention to the version number.

That looks like some of what was released in the 17.23 update plus Golf tracking updates which were not, but which were included in the Approach S70. So some features were promoted to release channel for Epix 2, apparently some were not. If you scroll down there may be even more. I would verify with Garmin that your device will automatically update once Garmin officially releases another firmware higher than 18.07. Given the regressions users have seen in WHR glitching a few firmware releases ago, while using music specifically apparently, and Garmins apparent acknowledgement of this, I think we'll be seeing another release soon. Plus I would guess new watches coming to bring Elevate v5 and Venu 3 type features to some other top end watches. My personal guess is this will be before the end of the month, but who knows, software or specific component drivers/firmware bugs can delay things.
