I just shared the Boat Mode data I recorded on Oct 30 with everyone. I used the MK1 and MK2i at the same time and tried to navigate to my saved location. When the MK1 said I hit my location, the MK2i showed me hundreds of feet away.

Could you post the links to them? The easiest way is by opening the activity detailed page in Garmin Connect Web, copying the address line, and pasting it here.
There are indeed interesting differences in the data. While MK1 records also the "Moving Time", and records 156 track points, MK2 does not log any moving time at all (as if it did not detect the motion), and records merely 59 track points, despite that it is 5 minutes longer (22 min vs 17 min at MK1).
That was with the smart recording. Now if you could post also links to the activities of the latest dive with MK1 and MK2 using the "Every Second Recording" - that could reveal some more clues.

Also I have a great dive video, I took 5 years of diving La Jolla and spliced the best clips into one long dive. You should enjoy this.

Yes, I did. Beautiful indeed! I love shallow dives like this one too. Just, I prefer diving light - at 65°F I'd be without a wetsuit (not even speaking about dry suit), or with a shorty, and with my 5L tank - it then feels almost like freediving - you have much more mobility and freedom in that way, and you can stay an hour at 10-30 feet. I can recommend it for such dives, you'll be amazed.
PS: Please make the last two activities visible to Everyone too, they are private for the moment.
Yep,I look forward to traveling where I can dive warmer water. The water is always cold in San Diego so I always use my dry suit. I have been out when the surface temp was 70 and below 60 feet it is 52.
I made the activities visible to everyone. Comparing the two it is very evident the MK2i is not working properly. I sent them to Garmin as well, been calling them about this issue for a year now. When the MK1 notifies me I have hit my location, the MK2i still shows me hundreds of feet away. If you can get the GPS location, you can see that when I ended Boat recording, they MK1 & MK2i have me in totally different locations.
This is the MK2i Dive Data. It works perfectly under water, just does not work. for surfaced based GPS.
Just a question - did you swim from the shore to the destination, or were you on a boat?
... and another question - did you get the GPS lock on the MK2 before starting?
