Do we get the new SW updates from 945?

Can someone from Garmin elaborate on this? I really want the new training load feature.
  • I this, I that. Greedy this, greedy that.

Me want FREE cause Garmin greedy...sums it up your post right?

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled program called “Entitlement by the Young and Forum Famous”

  • There is no image anymore. :( You've spotted something unusual.

  • Odie21, you should stop trying to force your standpoint and expectations upon other people. Consumers have a right to expect more from a premium product that they purchase with their hard earned money.

Their opinion and expectations are no less valid than yours, and you are clearly the minority in this thread. It also doesn't serve your interests well to side with the company in this case. So please stop treating other customers as though they are entitled with unreasonable expectations.

There is absolutely nothing unreasonable with asking for a few backported software features on premium consumer electronics that are less than 1 year old, and your continued defence of Garmin seems pathetic.

  • Have Garmin confirmed that the new features does NOT come to the plus serie ?

  • OK, thank you.  No problem for me anyway , but if people not can live without those features the solution is simple, they have to buy a new watch, like it or not .

  • Yes

    Officially? Source?

  • First, I’m only in the minority in this topic because mostly people that want the 945 features are visiting this thread. If a larger poll was taken, you’d find a much different result.

Second, I am in no way siding with any company, namely Garmin. But if you actually started reading from my very first post in this thread, the theme of it has remained consistent, I’ve always responded to the same type of person...ICE (Idiotic Consumer Entitlement). “I spent this, I deserve that” or “Didn’t you know that the customer is always right?”. That’s not “requesting” features to be back ported, people are expecting or demanding that they are. THOSE are who I’ve primarily been responding to. If I’m one of the only ones doing so, then so be it. But quite frankly, not one person has given a truly valid argument as to why a product that included everything that was advertised, HAS to or is required to have features from newer watches back ported.

Finally, are there specific features from other Garmin watches that I want? Absolutely, but I’ll never “EXPECT” it or “DEMAND” it...which is a very common theme throughout this thread, that quite frankly needs to be closed.

This type of thinking though, is quite frankly Garmin’s fault as it’s self inflicted. They should just release watches “as is” with no betas, no software updates (unless it’s a critical fix), etc. People just EXPECT things now, which directly contribute to this type of behavior.

  • Officially? Source?

The DC Rainmaker review. I don't think it's official (and my guess is you will NOT get an official statement from Garmin), and it does not guarantee that garmin won't change their mind in the future, but since the Rainmaker often has inside info from garmin, I'd assume it's credible.
