What is your problem? You are willing to accept that your watch, that is perfectly capable of getting the update and using the features won't get them because some big corporate decided so. How is that…
Some of us do run businesses, fairly substantial ones in some cases. And we understand the imperative of driving short-term revenues. But we also understand the balance of driving away repeat customers…
Dear Garmin Team, I totally agree with the below comments: Since I just bought a "Fenix 5 Plus Saphire" end of March 2019 for 800€ I would be really disappointed to not benefit in any way from the new…

Buying a top end device comes with the expectation that it will be supported and updated for some time. Yes that includes features that might be new and we're not initially released.
Look at all the (-)’s I’m getting...yeaaa! This is to all the “entitled” people posting. You believe that “the customer is always right” (which all of you are 100% wrong), you believe that because you paid a lot of money that Garmin should port “newer” features from a new watch (when that was never promised from Garmin), into an older watch. While Garmin may have done this before with previous models (porting some features), they by far are not obligated to do so. If any of you actually ran a business, instead of collecting your paychecks on Friday’s and complaining about the company you “work” for, you’d understand why it’s not a common practice to port features on a newer watch, to an older watch...why? Because they want you to BUY the NEW watch...duh. If they kept on porting features back, no one would ever buy a new model...of anything.
I’m sure that someone is either thinking or about to say...”You sound like a Garmin employee”...nope, not in anyway associated with them in any manner. But what I do have is....wait for it....ready....?
COMMON SENSE
Garmin support their watches for a very long time, the F3 is still getting updates.
Nothing has happened to diminish the F5+ series. As I said, it still does everything you bought it for.
I don't understand all the kerfuffle. If the 945 does what you want, sell your Fenix and buy it. I wonder how many people demanding these free new features understand what they are and whether they'd get any benefit from it.
You are willing to accept that your watch, that is perfectly capable of getting the update and using the features won't get them because some big corporate decided so.
That's how business works.
People slated the 935 as the plastic Fenix as it had nothing to distinguish it from the F5
Garmin obviously wanted to put clear blue water between the 945 and the F5+ series. They've positioned the 945 as more for triathletes.
And people slate them for it....
I want a good watch, not a plastic crap. and maybe fenix sales would increase if they got new features, and they are 50% more expensive than f945.
Where exactly do you mail them? No email address on the page and the chat doesn’t work on iOS safari...
I’m about to upgrade my old F3 to a 5X+ but since the 945 came out I’m hesitating. It’s an awful lot of money to buy an overthrown flagship, I mean, let’s face it, the 945 is now the flagship with the added features. Still I prefer the esthetics of the Fenix every day of the week but I’m not that keen on buying one now only to find out the Fenix 6 is coming out in a month. The silence from Garmin in the porting matter is truly annoying though. How hard could it be to give a straight answer?
I’ve been trying to email Garmin directly but there’s no email address to be found and their chat doesn’t work with iOS and safari. So instead I will post an open letter to Garmin here;
Hi, I’m about to buy the Fenix 5X Plus, having had the Fenix 3 for several years. However I’ve just realized that the FR 945 has features the Fenix 5X Plus doesn’t, even though the hardware would allow it. I really don’t want to spend that significant amount of money, only to realize that I’m not getting the flagship (which by now in terms of features is the 945 and not the Fenix that I prefer esthetically) or that a newer Fenix 6 is about to be released. So I have the following questions;
1) Will you port the new features from the FR 945 to the Fenix 5X Plus if the hardware allows it?
2) If so, what features will be ported and when?
3) If not, why?
4) Is there an eminent release of a newer Fenix model that will reclaim its position as the wearable flagship in the works?
Looking forward to your clarification as this is an issue that has stirred a lot of feelings and frustration with loyal Garmin users that now are left feeling truly abandoned by you.
