Do we get the new SW updates from 945?

Can someone from Garmin elaborate on this? I really want the new training load feature.

 Hello, Thank you for contacting Garmin. Sorry for the delay in responding. I try to avoid using terms like "flagship" because the value or usefulness of a feature set on a particular watch depends on the use case of the individual making the purchase. The FR 945 has features that the fenix 5X Plus doesn't because it's a newer watch by almost a year and has different hardware. To answer your questions: [1, 2, 3] Most likely not, but I can't say for certain. This type of information isn't shared or made available until a release actually happens. [4] The fenix 5 series was released early Spring 2017 and the Plus series was released early fall of 2018 if I remember correctly. Based on our previous device releases there may be another fenix by the end of this year (2019) but again we won't know for certain until something is announced.

 1) Will you port the new features from the FR 945 to the Fenix 5X Plus if the hardware allows it? 
 2) If so, what features will be ported and when?

That&rsquo;s backwards thinking, again &ldquo;expecting&rdquo; something in return for spending a higher dollar amount when there is NO guarantee when you buy it that there will be updates. 
 If you paid $50 for a watch, would you expect that to be updated with &ldquo;new&rdquo; features? When you buy these watches, you buy it for the CURRENT set of features and with the hope that any software related issues will be resolved. You don&rsquo;t buy it with &ldquo;Hey, I&rsquo;m going to buy this watch because I want the new features of a watch that comes out a year from now&rdquo;. Again, that&rsquo;s entitled thinking because you spent a certain $ amount. 
 When you buy an iPhone, Apple states they will continue to update your phone with features for at least five years. Google says when you buy a Pixel, it will continue to update your phone for 2 to 3 years after you buy it. That&rsquo;s part of &ldquo;their&rdquo; pitch to get you to buy it. Please....show me where Garmin has said that for any of the Fenix products. If so, then I will admit that I was wrong, otherwise, enjoy your watch and if it&rsquo;s within your budget to buy a new watch with new features, then do it.

It's a piece of expensive consumer electronics, the expectation comes with the territory. 
 A $250 watch is "disposable" and the expectations are lower. Garmin have sold $1000+ versions of the F5+ and they will fail to meet consumer expectations.

I&rsquo;m about to upgrade my old F3 to a 5X+ but since the 945 came out I&rsquo;m hesitating. It&rsquo;s an awful lot of money to buy an overthrown flagship, I mean, let&rsquo;s face it, the 945 is now the flagship with the added features. Still I prefer the esthetics of the Fenix every day of the week but I&rsquo;m not that keen on buying one now only to find out the Fenix 6 is coming out in a month. The silence from Garmin in the porting matter is truly annoying though. How hard could it be to give a straight answer? 
 I&rsquo;ve been trying to email Garmin directly but there&rsquo;s no email address to be found and their chat doesn&rsquo;t work with iOS and safari. So instead I will post an open letter to Garmin here; 
 
 Hi, I&rsquo;m about to buy the Fenix 5X Plus, having had the Fenix 3 for several years. However I&rsquo;ve just realized that the FR 945 has features the Fenix 5X Plus doesn&rsquo;t, even though the hardware would allow it. I really don&rsquo;t want to spend that significant amount of money, only to realize that I&rsquo;m not getting the flagship (which by now in terms of features is the 945 and not the Fenix that I prefer esthetically) or that a newer Fenix 6 is about to be released. So I have the following questions;

The fenix 5 Plus is already a ridiculously expensive watch IMHO. ;-) I'm hoping too they'll backport it.
