New R10 is Not Reading at All (New System Software Available - See Update)

I just received my R10 and it will not register any shots.  I used Garmin Express to make sure it was updated. I deleted the Garmin app on my IOS device and reinstalled it.  My setup is just as it is suppose to be according to the instructions.  It still will not register a shot. 

I installed the E6 software and tried a practice session there.  It connects and says “ready”.  Once I hit it says “calculating”.  It then says “Error! Check if device is connected”. Then it connects again and says “Ready”. 

I have contacted support and they are looking into it.  

Does anyone have a similar issue or a suggestion?

  • Yes, I’m in the same boat too. I’m giving them until next week to fix the issue and then going to return the bloody thing. So disappointing. 

  • Was a bit surprised that local american golf had one in stock.

    When i opened it was surprised that little bags were already opened etc.

    Now not so surprised, guessing it had already been returned before!

    Problem is i dont know what to do with it?

    Take it back and im sure next day they will bring out a fix.

    Keep it and live in hope.

    Garmin should know and react better.

  • This thread has blown up....at one point does a big social media outlet get notified or an article gets written about how a big ticket item such as this is completely inoperable and really hurts the brand?

  • At the moment the only thing you can do is wait till Garmin has fixed the problem with a software update or they tell us that the whole series they produced at the end of the year has a hardware problem that could not be fixed. 
    if you send your device back you will get a new one with the same problem change to another device from rapsodo or mivo. 
    But we all have a good reasons why we ordered the Garmin.

  • I have got my R10 before xmas it didn't pick any shot at all, solid green light then flash blue or white light after swing. 

  • Same issues with mine but decided to return to vendor for full refund, can’t afford to have almost $700 on standby. I’ll wait until they have all this issues fixed. 

  • Problem for me is I ordered mine August 18 and received it just before Christmas. So if I send it back how long do I have to wait for another one? Hoping they’ll have a firmware update here shortly and this will all be forgotten.

  • Yes, exactly the same. i received mine yesterday. s/n 6PP011645. Very disappointing. 

    A friend of mine purchsed a garmin sports watch about 6 years ago, one of the funtions he wanted to use was the golf app which was installed at the time he bought it. Out of nowhere without any communication Garmin decided not to suport the golf app on that particulat sports watch. he had hell of a job getting a refund, here is hoping that customer service has improved now they have got my £530.
