Venu2 Apps auto-closing after inactivity from background or glance launch

Applications launched from the glance or from a background delegate close after inactivity.

If this is by design there should be some control over this. I'm running into this with my own app, but have also observed it on the 'WatchiBeastie" app from GarminLabs. (when you are low on "health" you need to do 100 steps, but unless you are actively keeping the watch engaged during those 100 steps, the app will close and the counter will be lost).

When apps are launched from the activities/apps menu. They don't have this issue.

Parents
  • You can reorder things in the app list - press on the app and you get a menu with things like "set as favorite" and "reorder, or maybe just the option to reorder (depending on watch)  So it shows right away when you go to the list

If launched from a glance, there is no way to avoid the timeout other than interacting with the app before it times out.  Even if your app doesn't handle something like a tap, a tap resets the timeout.  I first asked about this about 9 years back when I did my first widget.
