Strava Routes "IQ!" Error

Hi @all,

I'm curious if someone else also has encountered this problem: When trying to download a route created on Strava.com with the "Strava Routes" IQ app, the download process stops and I receive a Connect IQ Logo with an exclamation mark (IQ!). I have a Forerunner 735xt and it does work with older routes but not with newly created ones.

I'd be happy to hear if someone else also has seen this kind of error message, what it means and what a possible solution could be!

Thanks a lot!

  • I have been running into the same error, and I have found a solution for my issues. Solution: Simplify the name of the route.  (e.g. Remove all special characters and spaces, shorten the name only using Alphas and Numbers) Try something as simple as a 1 character for the route name (e.g. “A”) and see if it will download.  Change the name of the route that will be helpful to you until you get the "IQ!" Error.  Adjust the name as necessary to not get this error. I hope this is helpful.  I only investigated the issue enough to resolve my problem.  I am betting there is some documentation that defines the naming of routes, but I am to lazy to look for it. I'm sorry if this doesn't resolve everyone's issues, but there are definitely some rules to the naming convention of the routes.  I have not dived into this deeper.  I just figured it out by trial and error. Good Luck! EZ-G
