In activity page on Connect website, CIQ data field name and image are followed by developer UUID which looks strange and means nothing to end users (perhaps this was meant to be dev name / link to dev page in store?)

inb4 this isn't the correct forum (sorry but I don't think regular Garmin support would know or care about this kind of thing)

Recreation procedure:

- in activity, add CIQ data field which records developer FIT fields (such as stryd zones)

- record activity

- view activity in Connect website

See comment below for screenshots: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/i/bug-reports/on-connect-website-public-dev-id-is-displayed-in-plain-text-underneath-ciq-data-field-details?CommentId=9bbc86f8-bb13-4ab7-9c45-8411f7f5d47a

(btw the above url was not automatically linkified by the forum, I had to manually linkify it using ctrl-k)

Observed behaviour:

The public dev uuid will be displayed underneath the CIQ data field details (the app name and listing image, which comprise a link to the app in the store). This is not a big deal as the dev uuid is also part of the dev page [*] url in the store (meaning the dev uuid is not secret), but it looks bad.

(* Anyone can access the dev page in the store by clicking on the dev name that's displayed in the app details).

Expected behaviour:

Either:

- the dev UUID is not displayed at all

or

- instead of the dev UUID, the dev name is displayed (and perhaps it is a link to the dev page in the store). Another user has mentioned that they remember the dev name appearing under the data field details in Connect

  • 1. I also noticed this strange UUID in the past days (I wasn't sure if it's something new or something I haven't noticed before)

    2. Do I understand correctly that the bug is not that the uuid (which is public anyway) is to be found somewhere, but that the link's text is the uuid instead of the developer's name? If yes, then try to edit the title, description to make this clearer. If not... well then even more so :)
