BUG REPORT: Cannot Unlock Trial Application - 404 Error

Users cannot unlock trial applications. A 404 error is generated when the callback URL is called from the developers website. This problem started when new website was released. My customers have not been able to purchase an unlock key for more than 1 month now. Please help.....

Here's an example from my logs.

"15/03/2024 02:03:32","callbackURL: https://apps.garmin.com/appUnlock?appUnlockRequestId=f6995519-44dc-43ba-942c-37ecaf8d71ea"
"15/03/2024 02:03:32","responseCode: 404"
"15/03/2024 02:03:32"," response: <!DOCTYPE html><html lang=""en-US""><head><meta charSet=""utf-8"" /><meta name=""viewport"" content=""width=device-width"" /><title>Connect IQ Store | Free Watch Faces and Apps | Garmin</title><meta name=""next-head-count"" content=""3"" /><link rel=""preload"" href=""/_next/static/css/3286e0fb9d0..............

I have reported this previously as part of this bug report (https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/i/bug-reports/bug-report-is-the-app-store-trial-system-broken) but there is no feedback  from Garmin and the problem is now 1 month old. I can only assume that Garmin fixed the first problem identified in that bug report and closed the ticket before fixing the second.

  • I must say I am disappointed  that it's taken this long to acknowledge that the problem exists. As a developer, I'm trying to support and look after my customers which is very difficult to do with the lack of information coming from Garmin. This issue has now reduced my income from app sales to $0 not that I rely on sales to live but there may well be others that do.

Obviously, the recent website upgrade did not go as everyone would have hoped. I get that it is sometimes difficult to respond to each and every user posting a problem on the forums but how about a posting from Garmin acknowledging that there are multiple problems and listing them so we all know that they are on the radar and being addressed.

Garmin needs to do a much better job in this respect. I still remember the launch and the hype and blog posts about the updating settings where items can now be grouped. It didn't work at launch, still doesn't work (so far as I'm aware) and yet the functionality is still proudly touted on the developer core topics web site today. Either fix it or remove it from the SDK and the documentation until it works.

This bitterly disappointed developer will get off his soapbox now Disappointed
