Watchface: Data Lover

Nothing changed. If I want so see the sun events for the day I have to reinstall it. Please, write into the description that fetching the sun events for the day only works after a donation.

How many times do I have to repeat that the watchface is fully functional without donation?

Anyway in case you care to debug the root issue you can create a text file in the folder /garmin/apps/logs on your device with the same name as the downloaded watchface (found in /garmin/apps) but ending in txt now so if the file is called ae1234a.prg create a file ae1234a.txt .
after launching the watchface again it should contain debug info regarding sun events.

Thanks Peter for this amazing watch face, it's by far my favourite one!

They only issue I find is that weather + location are not being updated after several hours (more than 6-7hours to be exact).
I checked the FAQ's and all parameters are correct: BT and internet connection are fine, location was updated by receiving gps signal in activities.
I also donated and filled in the donation key that you sent me (thanks for that).

Can you pls advise if there is something else I need to do to get my weather info and location updated every 15minutes?

As you can read in the FAQ (q3) there are several reasons why an update of the weather could not occur.

Out of these reasons there are 2 major cases:
- the bluetooth connection is not active. Even when you see a connected bluetooth connection icon this is not sufficient, the bluetooth has to be actively connected and be in the synchronizing state, to force this state you can go to garmin connect mobile and choose to synchronize your watch.
- yahoo returns an invalid request or returns the same data: nothing you can do about this....

Yes, even tried to force weather update by actively synchronizing my Fenix 5 with phone, but without success even after several attempts.
I notice that weather is being updated on my watch only after 5/6 hours.
On the Yahoo website however, the weather info for my location is correct at any time, so somehow the weather information is not being transfered to my watch correctly.
Could you pls check on any possible cause for this?

Secondly, would it be possible to use the information of the built-in Garmin weather widget and transfer this to the watch face?

Garmin does unfortunately not expose the weather data to the connectiq layer.

I'll add an option to debug the weather fetches in the next release.

After several tries the created TXT file was filled:

I stood near the window waiting for GPS, in the other hand my phone with the app open. Today's sun events were 5:42/21:00. I still see these times although the sun is already in bed. Tomorrow's sun events should be something like 5:40/21:02. My other watchface says 5:40 for tomorrow. BTW, tht watchface corrected sunrise today from 21:01 to 21:00 after a short GPS fix and a sync after that. Because the last fix was two days ago. That watchface gives me everyday other times, it matches with what happens in the sky. Regarding the TXT file I'm not sure what it means. Are that times for sun events? If so there are long gaps between the times. I think the 21:25 sunset will be in 10-14 days. I'll see new times on the screen in 10-14 days? Well, that's not very useful... I tried to force an update on the screen by choosing my other watchface and then back to Data Lover, changing some settings for the values shown, nothing. I'll wait until midnight but I've no hope that I'll see the new sun events. All that I've done the last 6 hours since installing that watchface again I had done before and since the last update. Data Lover seems to be the only watchface oft those I used that's not able to give me the sun events for the new day. Only after reinstalling. I even offered two different locations. In the afternoon Bremen Bürgerpark, now Bremen Hemelingen. New coordinates, new times? Obviously not.

No update at midnight. Steps, step goal, calories, distance, bars - everything is new. Sun events not.

The 10 times you see in the log file are the values for the several sun events rise dawn blue hour etc.
The calculation used could differ a few mins from the astrological sunrise but this is a tradeoff as the calculation uses less processing power.

If a new line is added after midnight in the txt file after midnight this means that the sun time recalculation has happend for the new day. This is the exact same routine the wf goes through on initial install so reinstallation should not make a difference to the times you see...

But I don't see new times after midnight. I uninstalled it but the last time I had it on my watch I have been waiting until lunch. Still the same times as the afternoon the day before Obviously the recalculation doesn't work on the FR 235.
