    Hi Peter,

I added Elevation to the Garmin Outdoor Walking activity with GPS enabled and I noticed that it displays completely different values than the Data Lover elevation value.

I checked Toronto elevations on an elevation map and for me in downtown Toronto the minimum elevation should vary from ca 75 to 100 M at ground level (being multiple stories up should also increase that somewhat).

The Data Lover elevation is usually showing -44 to -16. The Garmin Outdoor Walking activity with GPS enabled elevation varied from ca -112 to -150 IIRC.

Either the Garmin api you are using is massaging the altitude info in some way or there is something wrong with the hardware or firmware in my VA3 watch since there shouldn't be such a vast difference in values and I'd expect the accuracy to be much better than being out by ca 100 to 150 M.
  • That's indeed a way off it might help if you calibrate the altimeter. (In my area it's really flat so can 't test this myself)

i think the the elevation history will show more accurate results (bumped it a bit higher on the to do list:) )

I don't think that there is any way that we can calibrate the VA3 manually any more with the latest firmware release IIRC from other forum postings. I haven't seen any way that I can change that.

It is my understanding that the altitude is calibrated to the GPS elevation from the most recent GPS enabled activity... so that leaves me wondering if Garmin's GPS elevation calculations are wrong (extremely inaccurate), if my VA3 has some hardware issue with the barometric sensor, and/or if both are at fault for the constantly negative elevation readings that I see?
  • I cant comment on that but in my dev version i have changed it to be using elevation history now which will likely be better. I need to test a few other changes before i can release It, but it shouldnt be too long. Probably a week or so...

Hi, The Data Lover is great! Is there a way to show the status icon when "Do not disturb" is active on my fenix 5?
  • do not disturb is currently not an option amongst the status icons

Here is a picture of the watch face on my Garmin Fenix 5X Plus. As you can see, "C" for the temperature is cut off at the edge.
Other request is that is it possible to get the current location of the weather from GPS instead of manually put it.

  • I'm aware that when the time has 2 digits that the °C is shown slightly cut off, but when putting the temperature closer to the time then the time is not as readable any more.
The watch face already picks up the gps location from your latest gps activity (eg a "run" activity).

I’m new to using the garmin app with my fenix 5, could you tell me how and where on the garmin app I can set my default location as I’m having the problem of Q2 where my location is stuck in Brussels?
