  • I don't know if you had a chance to look at it yet, but I wanted to give you another data point. Once again I did not wear the watch for a full 24 hours on Saturday. When I put on the watch on Sunday it showed some steps for Saturday, but not matching the previous day like last time. However, looking at it now on Monday it seems to have changed and now matches the previous day's steps.

  • there's a routine that fetches the 7 day history, but it does this part very occasionaly (as it requires more battery).

the other path is the gradual increase and it must be there that it goes wrong when not wearing the watch for a while.

  • Makes sense that there are two different fetching intervals. But I think there's an issue on both. The seven day history was showing the wrong information for Saturday throughout th next day, but it was changing. By Monday it was just showing a copy of Friday's stats. Maybe what's happening is that during the day it's updating the missing day's steps based on the previous day's up to that time, and then by the end of the day they match up. So for example in my case, let's say Friday I had 2,500 steps at 10AM and 7,000 at the end of the day, and did not wear the watch on Saturday. When I put the watch on on Sunday the steps on the 7 day history for Saturday will show 2,500 at 10AM on Sunday, and by the end of Sunday it will show 7,000 steps for Saturday. I'll try to check some values next time and see if that holds up.
