Watchface: Data Lover

A watch face featuring:
  • a readable time font
  • sun events
  • active statistics (heart rate / steps / stairs)
  • YAHOO! weather & forecasts.
  • ....
Download: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/b...4-169e581df99c

  • there's an issue with current value, but if you use min-max you should see body battery info for the past hour (retrieving more data causes a out of memory issue)

  • Hello,

Is it possible to display the Distance metric as a decimal, e.g. 20.1, instead a number (just 20)?

    Thank you!

    Alex

  • Jak ustawić datę na tarczy, nigdzie nie widzę takiej opcji.

  • Hello Peter. I just installed your watch face on my Epix Pro. I think it is great. My question:  is there a way to set clock to 24 hour time?  I can't figure out the setting if there is one. Thank you.

  • you can change the clock to 24hr in your watch system settings (long press middle button on your watch -> settings -> system -> etc...)

  • Hello peterdedecker
I paid money to contribute to your watch face efforts.
I have used your “Data Lover Watch Face” on my Garman S 70 for quite some time and I was very happy with it until just recently.
First, I started getting this message at the bottom of my watch face saying that I couldn’t connect to Garman weather anymore and I didn’t get any more weather updates. This feature had been working for probably six months to a year before it started failing and I couldn’t figure out what the heck was going on.
So I went to “Openweathermap” in an attempt to get a working API key which would allow me to connect your watch face to open weather map and that didn’t work either. I even paid for a subscription and that didn’t work. I contacted “Openweathermap” and they said they weren’t responsible for any third-party use of their weather maps.
Additionally, when the weather information does appear on the bottom of the watch face I now have some words were I didn’t have words for which says something like “Placer County Fire Department” and I don’t know why these additional words suddenly started appearing before the temperature at the bottom of the watch face.
I do love your watch face for all the information is provided in one place and I really would like to get the weather working especially with the source being the “Openweathermap” information..
I have looked through the forums and tried to figure out how somebody else solve this problem but I have been unable to solve this problem and I’m really a bit frustrated with the weather indication on your watch face.
If I can get the correct weather information I’m supposed to be able to use the weather speed and direction to correct where I need to hit the ball and how far on my Garman S 70 when I play with golf.

    Please help.

    RGL

  • For recent watches the location of the weather is determined primarily by your phone location, if you configure it right.

Go to your Garmin Connect app -> click your profile pic in the upper left -> settings -> user settings -> weather location -> check use phone location

in the same screen click manage location permission and make sure to grant all necessary permissions.

In case you did not have to change anything with the procedure above then you may be facing settings corruption (which sometimes seem to happen after a firmware update or app update). to fix this do an uninstall and reinstall of data lover. (the uninstall is important)

First, I started getting this message at the bottom of my watch face saying that I couldn’t connect to Garman weather anymore and I didn’t get any more weather updates.

this message is not coming from data lover.

to get garmin weather working make sure bluetooth is on and your garmin connect app is actively running on your phone

you can see if garmin weather is working via the garmin weather widget in your widget loop
