Watchface: Data Lover

A watch face featuring:
  • a readable time font
  • sun events
  • active statistics (heart rate / steps / stairs)
  • YAHOO! weather & forecasts.
  • ....

  • Two things I noticed:

Battery percent are 1 point lower than the watch (and other watchfaces) shows. For example watch shows 85%, Data Lover 84%. Watch 60%, Data Lover 59%. Obviously Data Lover goes down earlier with the shown value.

The weather condition clear sky is shown with a sun symbol although it's evening.

the battery value is a decimal value, I truncate the value instead of rounding the value, because I save few extra bytes of memory that way. You might have noticed that Data Lover has more features than any other watch face out there, but because of this I'm incredibly tight in memory, saving the few extra bytes where I can helps. While it's technically more correct to round (eg 65.6 -> 66), I consider it a small cost to not round the value and save the extra memory as the battery percentage is an estimate anyway .

There's no difference being made during day and night. The sun icon is the representation of the "clear" condition.

  • I like using Datalover. I am displaying the mean solar time of my home location by using the formula GMT + (longitude of my home)/15. Because is it fixed on my home location it will not change when travelling east or west. Is there a possibility to use the GPS longitude instead?

    Tx.

  • once you fill in any of the values for lat or lon, it's going to use both values you have set.

why don't you leave both values to 0 and let gps determine where you are at? (to change gps location go into an activity that activates gps such as run and wait for green gps, then return to the watch face)

  • I noticed a strange problem with the 4 hrs HR graph: It isn't completely filled, left side shows a gap. Maybe 30 minutes. Noticed it before, reinstalled the watchface. No problems. Today the missing 30 minutes are back. 3 hrs or 2 hrs are completely filled. Is that a memory problem of my FR245?

  • If it happens again, does the hr chart draw properly if you move away from the watch face and go back?

  • No, it didn't. Meanwhile it's fine again. It wasn't always. I'll see if it will happen again.

  • Complication launching on fenix 7 not working. Tried uninstalling and reinstall. Did not help. On original Garmin-watchfaces the complication is working...

  • Which fenix 7 do you have? (s / regular / x )

Which firmware version is on your watch?
