  • this is by far the best analog face out there currently available for the new Forerunners.

i noticed that you choose to have the battery meter show up whenever the second hand appears? will you plan on making that an option too? it seems one would want it on all the time (doesn't matter if that doesn't update every second) or off all the time. it's sort of distracting to see it randomly turn on and off when i move one way or another (IMHO).

thanks for creating a great face!
  • Yes, I'll add 1-minute markers in the next update.
I didn't think they were necessary on the fenix and D2, but I can see they may be useful on the Forerunners.

    yes, please. :)

Thanks for the kind words :)

There already is a setting for the battery: 'Show Battery Status on Gesture'.
When this setting is turned off, the battery meter doesn't show when the seconds appears. However, when the battery charge is below 30%, the battery meter is always visible, regardless of the setting.

  • will you be bringing Simplicity to the Garmin Forerunner 230/235/630 series, too?

again, the Simplicity Roman is by far the best i've used yet.

    other feature requests:

have you consider one other permutation of just larger marks at the 3/6/9/12 hours? and even the ability to turn off the calendar?

also, a more minor request but it would great if one could choose other colors besides white and red. would it be hard to have it coordinate with whatever the user has chosen as the profile color, or just have the ability to select any of the other available colors? (i personally like green :) )

    thanks again!

thanks: i finally saw that. and i like your reasoning to force it to appear at 30% or below. it will save a few of us from not paying attention.

thanks again for contributing something so elegant!

Simplicity: Roman now supports the Garmin Forerunner 230/235/630 series :)
I also added an option to turn on and off 1 minute markers.

As for more features, such as date on/off and more colors, that's something I will consider, either for this version, or as part of a new 'Premium' version of the watchface.

yes, i see that Simplicity Roman supports the 230/235/630 FR series. but i was curious if you intended to do the same with your other simplicity faces (with standard numbers, etc.)

thanks for adding in the 1 minute marker option!

    thanks!
  • bug introduced with new revision..

i am having a strange behavior now come up.

even though i can set and save my preferences within the Connect App (iOS) or via Garmin Express, they don't really stick. right now, it always reverts back to white everything with 1 minute tick markets even though it reports i have saved the 1 minute tick marks to be off and have red 5 minute marks...

(it says it successfully saves, but if i go back into Settings after exiting, it goes back to having everything checked...and even though the 5 minute indicators are showing "red" in the settings, it shows up as white on the watch face.)

i've tried rebooting my watch and this doesn't change anything.

I've seen the same, and I think it is a bug in Garmin Express and/or Garmin Connect Mobile. Settings work perfectly in the simulator. I usually get the settings to stick by explicitly selecting the color every time even though it seems to be set correctly.

I'll look into it, but I think I've done everything correctly.

Actually, I've seen this on other stuff, and what's happening is when a new version with a change in settings is sent to the store, when a user goes into settings with GCM (I've not tried GE), the settings are for the latest in the app store, even if the latest version isn't on the device.

So the device might have "version 1" installed, and the settings on GCM are for "version 2". This has been reported to Garmin.

Sometimes it takes a bit of time for "auto update apps" to the device to occur, so if the user just clicks "download" in the apps store, it forces it right away. (well, the next sync...)

Note that this also means if you use a "list" in user settings, and in "version 1" you allow 0 to 3 to be returned, but in "version 2" you allow 0 to 5, a "version 1" watchface could be given a value of 4 or 5 and needs to handle that. (I check range and ignore those out of range, so in "version 1", I simply ignore the 4 or 5)
