IN CONCLUSION!

I am an independent software developer. I'm also a dedicated runner, passionate about my health/fitness and been an owner of many Garmin devices over the years (305, 310, 910, vivofit to name a few). If you like BigTime and want to find out more please visit www.boiledsweets.com/garnin.

Now go, go run...

Thanks! :)
  • The altimeter data isn't available to watch faces (the Position and Activity modules).
  • As mentioned previously, you can localize your resources. You can have a resource folder for eng_GBR as well as eng_USA. It isn't a perfect solution, but if you are being impatient and want something that works for 90% of the people, the resource system can do it. Then when the settings functionality comes along, you can rip the code out.

Thanks, yes but I'm not convinced yet! Why do you say 90% of the people? And why do you suggest waiting, do you mean for the ability to configure the watch face on the watch ? Ta
  • The supported languages for each device are listed in the devices.xml file in the <sdk root>/bin folder.

    I see...

    <language>hrv</language>
    <language>ces</language>
    <language>chs</language>
    <language>cht</language>
    <language>dan</language>
    <language>dut</language>
    <language>eng</language>
    <language>fin</language>
    <language>fre</language>
    <language>deu</language>
    <language>gre</language>
    <language>hun</language>
    <language>ita</language>
    <language>jpa</language>
    <language>nob</language>
    <language>pol</language>
    <language>por</language>
    <language>rus</language>
    <language>slo</language>
    <language>slv</language>
    <language>spa</language>
    <language>swe</language>

But how can I differentiate between American English (which would use MM/DD) and British English (which would use DD/MM)? The resources example is great but there isn't a way to detect if it's US or BRITISH English or am I missing something!? (quite possible)

Love this watch face (Just left a review BTW). Couple of requests/confirmations of already requested functionality:-

Alarm indicator would be great in line with your TVS indicators (maybe an A if you are keeping with letters)
Version number (perhaps bottom right of screen in the last movement indicator box to avoid taking up more real estate (This way people will know which version they have when responding to this forum - I cant tell which version I have and despite syncing I do not appear to have the features of 0.9 of Day display and mileage/KM aligned to watch (Its showing KM when I am using Miles).
I think you could get rid of the letters st as it doesn't add any value. but does take up space. (space is always good as it makes a quick glance of data easier)

Maybe Garmin could update the Garmin Express Interface to show the version number of each file installed, below you can see there is nothing to indicate the file version number.

Despite having my settings set to automatically sync all app updates, I don't know if its doing it, and there is no clear way of removing an app or watch face completely to then re-download other than deleting all of the files in the app directory (The App files do not have recognisable names and I haven't been able to find a source lookup list to help find out which app is which).

keep up the great work. And if you have a donation mechanism let me know. Very happy to contribute.
  • As requested - I've added a donation mechanism (please see initial thread post). All donations greatly appreciated, it helps me to continue to develop BigTime and other watch faces and apps. :-)
  • Fantastic watch face. I love it!!!

One question, is there a plan for, or any scope for an indicator for the bluetooth connection?
Not a big deal, but it's nice to see that it's still actually connected.

    Keep up the great work.

Hi yes of course it will be added just as soon as Garmin add it to the SDK for us developers to use. I cannot add it to Garmin make it available. Thanks for the feedback :-)
  • Any chance you could change the color of the date to white to make it easier to read. In low light conditions without the backlight on that is the one data field that is hard to read. Seems like the date fields you don't need quick glance access to read (percent battery, distance, calories, the status letters on the top) should be in a color that doesn't stick out as much while those you want quick access to should be white.

In that same line of thinking a color that better contrasts with green should be used in the step progress bar to make it quicker to see where the dividing line is. Maybe have the bulk of the green bar be "COLOR_DK_GREEN" and 2 pixels at the dividing line be "COLOR_GREEN" with "COLOR_DK_GRAY" for the other side

Thanks for the feedback. The next version has a white date. But not too sure why the bright green/dark grey doesn't easily differentiate at the moment. But will try it. The trouble is there has been a lot of happy users and I cannot accommodate everyone... but will see what it looks like....
  • How about this? Backed off the bright colours for the indicators, battery level, distance, calories and steps. And added the wee brighter division bar. I think you were right!
