  • There is actually more pixels on the F3 display than the other square watches... :)

Mathematically there are more pixels, but it is a lot more difficult to use those pixels.

With a square watch face, it is very easy to use the top 20 pixels of the screen. With a round face like a Fenix3, you get 20 vertical pixels at the center, but you only have 10 vertical pixels at 65 pixels to either side of that. So with a square watch with a 205x148 screen, you can draw ~20 characters across that top area. With a round face you can draw ~5 before they start running off the screen. So you move them down and then you have a lot of wasted space near the top of the screen.
  • 1) Wouldn't it be possible to present the remaining recovery time on the face? I believe it would be very useful. I would prefer it much more than calories or any other data that is visible on the next screen.

This isn't available at the moment to the watch face API. So all I can suggest is ask Garmin to add this feature to connectiq.

    2) Don't you thing that the "inactivity bar" should be kind of similar to the original one? I mean at least in the scale, as the 1st bar should be half of the screen (as it represents 1h and the next bars are for 15mins)

good idea. Done, coming in next version

    Thanks.
  • << Please see the notes about this in the first post in this thread. Although you can disable the activity bar in the watch settings, at the moment this status isn't passed to the watch face app in connectiq. Once Garmin allow us developers to detect that the activity bar is disabled then I can remove it from the watch face. So all I can suggest is ask Garmin to add this feature to connectiq.

Maybe I expressed it wrongly. I like the activity bar on the watch screen. What I was asking (maybe it is not possible at all) is to put somewhere information about Recovery Time. i.e. the information available under menu->My Stats->Recovery Advisor->Recovery Time. It would be very useful for me. (just as a small info as e.g. "2hr")

    I know. Just teasing a bit :)

That is the reason why I can't decide on who to get. F3 or some of the square ones.
Like the looks of F3. But the round screen can be limiting. The square ones is not as nice.
And I think we will se more square in the future.

Recovery time is not available to the Watch face API in connectiq, sadly. I will ask Garmin to add but no promises. Follow up on my request post in this forum and perhaps we'll persuade them ;-)
  • Sneak preview of next version (see first post to see what's new)

  • and what about blinking of the red bar? in original face it starts blinking when you move, starting from the last bar until it whole blinks and than disappears. THis gives kind of an impression, how long you still need to walk until the bar disappears. Wonder if this would be possible on the watch face...

Hello all. I am new to the Garmin Apps market and I am trying to sync my apps with my Garmin920. I seem to be getting a sync error, even though I connected and up to date. The error states: Error. Sorry we couldn't sync your device. Please try again. Any chance someone has come across this and have any insights. A screenshot is attached for reference.

    Thanks so much! T.

You don't have the 2.64 beta software installed on your 920.

Great work. Just a question about choice of icons: I can seen having an icon for sleep mode and BT (once that is addressed). I am not sure the value of having one for vibrate and/or sound, I think most people typically don't change those two very often so I think they are more or less static. To me if you had to pick three it would be: Clock alarm, sleep mode, and BT since those settings tend to be more dynamic. Just my two sense not sure what others think?
