  • Great app that I use many times a summer. Thanks for developing this. A couple thoughts.. (Fenix 5)
    1) The option to sync down, as opposed up/down to nearest, has been removed? I liked the sync down. (in general, lots of menu options are great by me)
    2) It would be nice to have the time of day to stay at the bottom of the display both before (as it is) and during the countdown, with H:M:S. Always useful, especially useful since our RC is dead-on GPS time.
    3) The rolling sequence is great for 5 minute rolling multiple fleet sequences. Thanks for including as an option.
    4) I'd like to turn vibrations off just for this app.
  • I have moved the Sync Down setting to the Garmin App (along with a few of the others to keep the watch app memory usage down) - if you go to Garmin Devices in the "Garmin Connect" phone app, select your device/Connect IQ Apps/Applications/Race Countdown and go into settings. There is a setting for vibrations there also - mind you I did just check it and it only seems to turn off the vibs for the last 10sec of countdown (will change to all vibs next update).
And will add time to the countdown screen - was thinking of that anyway. Cheers Hannes
  • Hi Hannes. Subsequent to the latest update, I have been unable to activate the app on my Forerunner 920XT. I select the app and it just shows the IQ logo with a yellow exclamation mark next to it. Any ideas?
  • I have tested it on the simulator and it runs fine for the 920xt - so I am not sure what the cause is.

Anyone else with a 920XT install the latest version of the app, have a problem or runs fine let us know. Thanks

I have a Fenix3 and I?m having the same problem as gigs67. Worked great all summer, went to use it today and nothing but the IQ logo and yellow exclamation mark.
  • That is strange as I run it on a Fenix3 and has never given an error. If you could send on what software version is on the watch and also the log file on the watch in
    GARMIN/APPS/LOGS/CIQ_LOG.TXT
    That would help.

  • Hi Hannes. With regards to the above:
    The software is version 9.40
    The log file:
    ERROR: Unexpected Type Error

    Many thanks, Gareth.
  • Hi Gareth, That looks like an old app setting is stored on the watch. As I changed how the settings are entered it might be giving a wrong value for the setting on start up. The best thing to try is uninstall the app and then try installing it again. Let us know if that works.
    Thanks,
    Hannes
