Data field are very very short in memory. All must be optimize: size of code, quantity of variable, quantity of displayed information,...
We must do a choice:
- reorganize the layout to add pace
- create a simple settung with 2 modes: pace or speed

it could be that the EPIX has a 1.2.x Connect IQ VM, while most other devices now have a 1.3.x or 2.1.x VM. When something with CIQ causes a "IQ!", on your watch, there's a file in \garmin\apps\logs called "ciq_log.txt" that might provide some details (for the developer)
