AppBuilder 5+ question about interval and rest counting

First, thanks for the Appbuilder 5+

I have made a datafield that tells me that which rep is going. Sometimes the focus is so in training that I lose the count and that's why I have made this simple formula that counts me reps and shows the rests (with a twist):

(Lapcount PLUS 2) / 2

So e.g. first rep => datafield shows number 1. When I press lap button and rest starts, datafield shows me 1.5. And again, when rest is over and I press lap button and start the second rep, datafield shows me whole number 2, and so on...

=> x (whole) number indicates the rep that I am running
=> x.5 indicates the rest of that rep

Question: is it possible to write a text for example "rest 1" instead of 1.5. if that is possible, how is it made with appbuilder 5+

I stopped using appbuilder and started using Garmin's native interval feature. Why? Well, the watch shows all the rep and rest information that I wanted at the first place. And this can be set under 30…

And is it possible to change color of the screen to black (and text to white) during rest? Like Garmin does in the native app, e.g. Strenght app.

This app makes it simple. Finish your 10 reps for that set #1, press the lap button. The Rest Timer countdown starts. End of countdown, the watch will vibrate, you start set #2. Finish 10reps, press the lap button again.

No, I want to use native run app. That's why I use the Appbuilder 5+ to show the info in the datafield.

Changing the field/text color is not supported.

To answer your other question, the following formula should work although I haven't tested it.

setv(0, (lapcount plus 2) / 2); if (getv(0) mod 1 eq 0, getv(0), 'Rest ' + (getv(0) - 0.5))

EDIT: The above formula won't work on older watches such as FR230, FR630, 920Xt, Vivoactive (original) and Fenix 3.

larsvon ah... you didn't provide the info that you are doing a RUN interval. Your description made me think you're doing strength training.

Thanks, this is helping me with what I would like, which is a datafield that shows me if I'm active or in pause and counts the rounds correctly (as Garmin does not provide that either).

If( (Lapcount+1) mod 2 eq 1, 'Play (' + format(((Lapcount+2)/2), '%.0f') + ')', 'Pause (' + format(((Lapcount+2)/2-0.5), '%.0f') + ')' )

I'm using words to show the state, so I don't need that .5 for pause, but I need the calculation to show the "real" interval.

format ('%.0f) gets it down to a single digit.

Using "resume later" completely messes that counter up, reset to "1" and therefore being out of sync with the "play / pause" phases (if I stop in a "pause" phase).

Garmins internal lap counter keeps it's value even after "resume later". Is this an IQ limitation or oversight with the data field?
