Watchface: M2

This is the support thread for the M2 watchface:

has created a Facebook group for designs here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/423319952037948

And this PDF files contains a quick visual index to the designs posted in this thread: >>>    ForumProfiles1.pdf    <<<

To create your own design or modify one, install & use the M2 Designer app on your watch. These are the steps you would go through:

  • Optionally paste a text code into the "Profile Text" setting of M2 Designer & save the settings, or load one of your previously saved designs (either via the settings or the in-app menu).
  • Run the M2 Designer app (found underneath your activities list) and create your design.
  • Once you've finished, open the Garmin settings for M2 Designer.
  • The text code in "Profile Text" will now represent whatever your design looks like, so copy the text code from "Profile Text" - and be careful to select the whole text.
  • Close the settings for M2 Designer.
  • Open the Garmin settings for M2 (watchface) instead.
  • Delete any text that was already in "Profile Text" - this step helps to avoid potential problems
  • Paste the text code into "Profile Text".
  • Save the settings.
  • Now when you view the M2 watchface it will show your changes.

A guide for accessing the Garmin settings is here: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/w/wiki/14/changing-your-app-settings-in-garmin-express-gcm-ciq-mobile-store.

No sorry I'm not an expert I try to explain myself better.

I have a Venu sq2 and I would like to install this watch face but I see that with my smartwatch it is not yet compatible....
    How can I do this?
    Thanks for the help
    Alexander
  • Sorry it just isn't compatible with any of the Venu watches due to their different/larger screen resolutions, so it isn't possible for you to use it Disappointed

  • Good evening and Happy holidays!  Not sure if you're still at it, but I was super impressed with the app.

Newest member on the Garmin bandwagon.  I didnt need a smart watch, since I already have a small and portable device, but I do like that I still get alerts as I do sometimes miss them from the phone.  I wanted something, actually, for the wife as hers just broke.  But when she insisted on a pink body, which wasnt available where I was.  I thought I'd give it a try and see.  I do need to get my self back more active as well.  I also was not super impressed with the basic watch faces.  They are ok, but I definitely need something that can be more "me".

When I found the M2, it was a bit much to try and get used to, but one does get used to it.  With all the updates had over all this time, I was able to whip into some considerable choices and options.  There also a bunch of really great watch faces out there.  I snagged a few to get used to loading and saving profiles and to test 'em out to see how they feel to me.

This was my first run: the outside ring is 24hrs red fills from 00:00 to 24:00, the next ring inwards is minutes of the hour (no seconds to save bettery on redraw) and last was steps to goal, stairs to goal and a battery indicator.  I did later add total steps, total stairs and total calories in fields, which is this code below.

The battery usage was about 3% over 8 hours sleeping, which should get me about 11 days on standby.  I also turned off the gesture to keep the backlight from coming on when I dont really need it to.  I also set the profile to update every 60 seconds to help prevent excessive redraw.

    (no second part)

Then I sat down to do some serious-er thinking about what I need this watch for or what I am going to really do with it.  Finished the setup and set some base goals and this is my second shot.  Thank you for the effort and continuing to build as much as you could into this app.

This one I just finished so I am testing it now to see what the battery usage is on this one.

  • What’s the code for this watch face?

  • Whats the best way to build a watch face for the watchface M2?? I am struggling with the App side so am hoping there is a better solution... And one that does not require two apps on the watch

  • The only way is using M2 Designer - there is an excel spreadsheet linked in one of the top posts in this thread, which shows all the menu options and might help you a bit Slight smile

  • Whats the 8 for under the battery?

    Hi,

I tried to see it for the Venu sq2 but it returns error, maybe a problem with the SDK version?
    Thanks
