Is there a way to contact a reviewer for more information?

Someone was kind enough to bother leaving a review for my watch face, but unfortunately the review was that it crashes for him and he left no more information about it.

I would like to get the watch face working for him, but I don't see any way to contact him and there is pretty much no way for me to chase down such a bug that does not happen to me with such vague information.

I know they can email me if the want to, but is there any way for me to email him, or is that locked for privacy? I have left a note in the watch face description for him, but I feel it is unlikely to be seen.

thanks
  • If you know there is an issue, you might want to add a note to the App description indicating that you know of problems, being sure to note which device and possibly firmware versions are affected. That way users that read are less likely to step into the bear trap.

I had taken that step earlier in the day. I would like to say it worked but someone else who appears to be using an APAC device has since rated again. There isn't much else I can do, so I am going to just relax about it.

I am in the same boat as OP. I have a review of one of my watch faces regarding an issue where A) the reviewer had offered zero information about the affected device or screenshots and B) the problem described is something I cannot replicate on my physical device. All systems go.

I hesitate to take the suggestion above and notate an issue that I can neither verify nor replicate. A "reply to" option would be much appreciated.
  • Today there is no way to contact a reviewer. What I do is in the description, have a statement like "To ask questions or report problems, use this <forum thread> to do so because I can't respond to reviews".

(where <forum thread> is the URL is a thread for the app in the showcase forum)

You can also mention the "Contact Developer" link for the app, but there the user must supply an email address if they want to hear back.

It's not perfect, but it helps.

You know what just occurred to me? My Garmin user handle is right there at the top of the page for every app that I post. The user should then be able to go to the forums and direct message me based on that handle.

I do agree though; in the future I will add developer contact information to my submissions.

    Thanks,
    Jeff
  • "Contact Developer" is already there for everything in the App store (it's after the description under "Additional Information"). It uses the email address you supplied when you first uploaded something to the app store. If a user click on that, you get an email. You just need to point users at it! (and let them know that if they want to hear back, they need to supply their email address)

    "Contact Developer" is already there...

I see that now; thanks for reminding me. I do supply me email address for every app I upload. Guess my critic missed it...
