[SOLVED] How to make Simulator settings persistent on Linux Mint (currently uses /tmp/com.garmin.connectiq/)

Hello, 
 
 I am running the Connect IQ SDK on Linux Mint and it works fine. 
 However, the Settings and other data of the Simulator are, apparently, stored under "/tmp/com.garmin.connectiq/". 
 This directory, being part of the /tmp/ directory, gets deleted after each reboot, which resets the whole simulator, clearing all installed apps and their settings. 
 How can I make the settings and data for the simulator persist across reboots?

Presumably there's no overridable config for the location of these files. Perhaps just symlink it to a permanent place and restore that manually or with a startup script?
