Is there any way to encourage Garmin to prioritize the bug fix?

I develop apps for tracking racket sports like Tennis, Padel and so on. Over a year ago I reported that for Fenix7 CIQ apps record way lower HR rates than the default apps ( https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-7-series/369676/low-hr-rate-recorded-during-activity?pifragment-1292=1#1973583 ). It was fixed for the moment but then 7 month ago it came back and was never addressed by garmin again. For the past few days I recieved multiple reports from users of various devices (Venu, epix, Mk3 etc) that they have the same problem on their watches. Some people gets so frustrated they give up not only on my apps but garmin watches as well.

1. Is there any way to encourage garmin to prioritize on bug report over another? eg. asking users to comment on a bug report or give a thumbs up

2. Do you think these and similiar persisting issues are just not fixed due to lack of capacity of garmin dev team or this may be intentional (eg. old models aging)? I know noone would confirm but I will just stop making useless effort trying to get it fixed.

  • Do you see this with native activities or other CIQ device apps?

  • I dont see any issue with hr recorded by native activities only ciq however I have no data in hand at the moment to show. You can take a look on thread i linked in first post where a lot people are sharing the same reports (including polar h10 and hrm pro users). Also you can take a look at review section of racket sports apps where ocasionally people report the same issue, eg:

    - Tennis Studio:" really like the app. It is almost perfect, one star less only because with my Vivoactive 4 it always registered lower heart rate than let's say using the cardio app (at least it was good if lused a chest strap)."

    Or

-Squash It: "rubbish HR/Calorie sampling rates, like really? Do better here, surely?? "

  • Have you tried CIQ apps that use a common sport, like SPORT_RUNNING or SPORT_WALKING?  This could be dure to using sports that the firmware itself doesn't support, the FW is trying to do some rounding.  HR is recorded by the FW, even in CIQ apps.

  • What I don't understand is that if there indeed is a bug that reproduces 100% of the time on the devices with updated firmware and is in the CIQ code then all CIQ apps should have the same problem. How come that only your users and you report it?

Can it be, that somehow the bug is specific to the way your code is written?

Or let's turn the question around: can you show that other CIA apps behave the same way as your's?

I think they mentioned apps from other devs which seem to have similar user complaints:
