watchfaec Automatically switch back to the default watch face

Received feedback from users that their watchface sometimes automatically switch back to the default watchface. After Sports Record, the watchfacel will also automatically switch back to the default wf. Mainly concentrated on fenix7. Has anyone else experienced this?

  • Do you see anything in you ERA reports?  Does this occur around the defined sleep times?

  • Most likely it happened at night. I'm not sure,
some users reported to me that their watch faces switched to other watch faces the next day. But they didn't mention the crash and iq on the screen.
But I don't have a fenix7 so I'm not sure. I had similar problems with fenix 6 before, usually when the memory usage was too large, 118/120kb. Sometimes the watch face would be replaced by the default watch face.
But the simulator can't detect the problem at present. The memory usage is only 45kb
I'm thinking it's caused by my last code change. Or it's caused by the recent system version update. If anyone else has encountered it, it should be a system problem.
  • Have you checked ERA?  If you don't know about it, see https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/b/news-announcements/posts/exceptional-crash-logging

On some device, they can be be set to switch to a minimal watch face during the times the user is sleeping.  There won't be a crash.  That's why I asked about sleep

  • It should not be the sleep watchfcae, because it will be restored when leaving the sleep period. And they need to be restored manually. Some users reported that this happened when they finished riding during the day. The dial returned to the default. Almost all the responses are from the fenxi7 series.

Usually FR255 has the largest number of users but has not received any feedback.

Maybe it has something to do with the large number of background layers I have. I set about 15 optional background images, and it reached 900kb on low-resolution devices. I tried to reduce and optimize it as much as possible.
