Does ERA system work for you?

I haven't received any crash notifications via ERA for about 2 weeks now. That is unusual.
(However, there were very few before, and most of them were rather inexplicable...)

There could be 3 reasons why I no longer receive any ERA crash-messages:
1) ERA is currently not working
2) Suddenly nobody is using my data fields anymore
3) My data fields are perfect (rather to be excluded  Joy )

What is your experience with ERA?

  • Is this problem current again?
Most of my ERA logs show a blank page, a few show "an unknown error occured. Please try again later."
SDK on most apps 8.1.1 or 8.1.0 - whether there is a blank page or the error message seens to be irrelevant.

In general, I have noticed in recent months that the error message appears if you do not update an app for a longer time - possibly because there are too many logs for the respective app?

    Anyone else with this problem?

  • When you update an app you no longer get errors from the old version. It can take weeks or months to have enough percentage of the old users update plus new users to install the app enough times for rare errors to happen.

  • I'm aware of that, it's always been like that.
But some apps have over 50,000 active users, normally it doesn't take a day for an error to appear.
Even the usual “Invalid Value” errors that come with an update are missing.

I have reports from users with an IQ message on the watch.
Even after instructions to synchronize with the Connect app, the errors do not appear in ERA for days.
My only option is to request the error logs directly from the users, which is very annoying.

  • Same issue here, exactly like TitanicTurtle describes

  • I updated a few apps in the beginning of April. In one of them (updated in 8th Apr) I got a few errors since 10th April (not sure when did I 1st see them in ERA, but that's the earliest date I see there now)

It is possible there is a problem as I don't see errors for a few other apps, but they already had very few errors in the previous version, so maybe I managed to fix all of them,

  • Today I started to have doubts about ERA. I am testing a beta app, that crashed twice today. I synced both Garmin Connect and Connect IQ app afterwards to hopefully sync the crash log to ERA, and then I checked in ERA, and nothing. Even now, hours after the 1st crash, nothing. In the past crashes of beta apps were in ERA no more than a minute after I synced.

So maybe it doesn't really work?

  • ERA is definitely not working very consistently.  I've had a few people report crashes but I get no crash reports so have no clue what the issues are Disappointed

  • In my case it's not a problem with the ERA system. When I looked in the LOGS folder on the watch I only saw crashes from 2 months ago. Today I managed to crash it again, but still, no crash log on the device. Any idea why can this happen and how can I debug/fix it without seeing any crash log? The only think I see is the IQ icon on the screen in the middle of the activity.
