The latest update to dashboard (and Connect IQ Store) Reviews section now includes ratings that contain no review text.
Does anyone find this useful? It creates a bunch of noise that hides actual reviews. For me, this is a HUGE mistake.

I agree. We can see the amount of actual ratings in the top section. The ratings without review (text) shouldn't be displayed separately.
Why would I report a 1 star rating without any text to point out as abusive? In my experience abusive reviews are so rare that I don't want all this "pollution" to get in the way of people reading real…
If there is no text, it's 100% USELESS! You have no idea what the reviewer is even complaining about!

Since it would also hide your fake reviews of your own app, it’s obvious it is HUGE problem for you.
It’s unethical.
They are all gone. Feel better?
Short time? This kind of stuff has been going on for years, and Garmin keeps looking for ways to eliminate it. Showing empty reviews seems to be the latest step they took.
???
I thought being able to leave empty text was a new thing.
In any case, if it’s worth the effort of using fake accounts, it’s worth the trivial effort of adding a word.
People will figure that out quickly. As you said, they are already doing that.

From what was said earlier, the empty reviews were a result of being able to just rate apps (and not leave a review). It doesn’t seem the change was a deliberate attempt to combat bogus reviews (which it would be poor at doing anyway).
It does work fairly-well at showing reviews by the app developers. But that shouldn’t be allowed at all.
