New Connect website Reviews includes ratings with no text - Useless Noise IMO

The latest update to dashboard (and Connect IQ Store) Reviews section now includes ratings that contain no review text.

Does anyone find this useful? It creates a bunch of noise that hides actual reviews. For me, this is a HUGE mistake.

I agree. We can see the amount of actual ratings in the top section. The ratings without review (text) shouldn't be displayed separately.

Why would I report a 1 star rating without any text to point out as abusive? In my experience abusive reviews are so rare that I don't want all this "pollution" to get in the way of people reading real…

If there is no text, it's 100% USELESS! You have no idea what the reviewer is even complaining about!

Your numbers strike me as odd, so it's got to be you are doing something different than others. My OWM widget has about 87k downloads and 160 reviews - what seems typical for many unpaid apps in the store.

Do people think a review will get them a free unlock key, as was the case with some paid apps in the past?

What's "odd" to you is normal to me. No, I don't offer people anything to leave a review/rating.

Again, this isn't the issue. The issue is that Garmin is showing these rating with no text which is the "odd" thing here compared to every other rating/review system that I've encountered.

I just looked at 25 or so apps in the store from about the same number of different developers, and your number of reviews is extremely high based on your download count in all cases. Something odd is going on.

It’s odd that you are “defending” what Garmin is now doing. And not very well either.

What Garmin is now doing doesn’t make much sense and isn’t useful. It also appears very unusual.

The numbers being odd don’t make what Garmin is doing make any sense. It’s another discussion.

It seems that, going forward, there are going to be more ratings without reviews.

Yeah, that explains. Looks like his "upload script" automatically pushes also a 5 star rating, without a review text. That also explains why he's extremely against displaying the rates without test... And also why he releases a new version every day
