Is it possible to run multiple apps at the same time?

Hello everybody,

I have a REST api which I would like to update using a garmin watch, for example forerunner 55. I have done a test in the simulator using a "Watch app" and when I call my api, it is working properly.

I would like to know if I run my app if I could have another Garmin app running in the background, for example one to track my running training while I use the app I created.

I don't have any device yet, so if it is not possible with forerunner 55, please, let me know which one would be able to do it.

You can't just run anything in the background. It needs to be the background service of another app, and it can run at most every 5 minutes, for at most 30 seconds at a time, and in much less memory…

So the best I could do is start tracking using my app and also do my calls to my API, correct?

I'm not sure what would be the calls.

You have a device app that records the activity and in the app you do the makeWebRequest calls for your data.

If you want to use a native activity, you could have your own data field with a background service that does the makeWebRequest calls.
