Also any way to know Any way to know is Red Shift Mode turned ON?
I monitor the APIs pretty closely for new stuff, and I haven't seen anything yet.
On watches that support it, is really red, orange, or green shift, and an app doesn't have to do anything differently, so no API to check it's state and no API to change it's state.
You turn…
I also think it would be useful if there was an api to query this settings. In some apps (i.e: Wordle: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/3430778e-6fee-4eb6-b799-21d9d59a41eb ) colors have an important role. I…
Well, no, this time I was serious, because the "solution" given was not related to CIQ.
Ah my bad.
Well my point still stands. It would obviously be helpful for CIQ apps to be able to query the red shift mode. Too bad the knee jerk response of certain ppl to any kind of feature request / concern is "you don't need it (because I don't need it)" / "that's not a problem (for me)".
And whether your response was sarcastic or genuine, it still amounts to the same thing in the end: pointing out that it doesn't help to say the user can turn off red shift mode if it causes a problem with CIQ apps!!!!1! (which is quite hilarious considering the original response which said that CIQ apps don't need to worry about red shift mode at all.)
Maybe system converts properly all colors so we have less work and more memory

Not based on this
Not sure if that is normal, but on my Epix 2 I draw error messages as text in color COLOR_RED, and when in Red Shift Mode these texts become invisible.
So it means nobody use this feature in CIQ app because
1. Most apps use colours
2. it's impossible to react on switching red shift (not only switching but also colour of "red")
There's no such feature in CIQ app. It's a feature that is transparent to CIQ: you can't set it from code and you can't know in which state the device is in from code.
I've the same problem and especially the color red is not working well with the red shift mode and gets somehow faded / partly transparent which makes it hardly readable...
I've made a bug report here - maybe someone wants to add something: forums.garmin.com/.../red-shift-mode-is-not-playing-well-with-red-colors
