Hi
I've been developing a plugin for Intellij IDEA to add support for Monkey C language and Connect IQ platform.

It is of a preview quality and is lacking in deployment/publishing part - you still need your Eclipse around.
But if anyone wants to test it, then here is your chance.

If you want to import an existing project, use File>Open (or File>New>Project from Existing Sources...)
When it offers a list of empty Project SDKs, go ahead and Configure the SDK as well (as the plugin is error-prone on missing configurations).

Also good to know - if you have multi-module project, make sure you set project SDK to Connect IQ SDK (instead of java or anything else).

I really love intellij, but i could not configure the plug-in on Mac for the CIQ 2.3.1. Can anybody help me and explain how to install this one step by step?

I can see that the SDK version is hardcoded in MonkeySdkType.java (currently only 2.2.x) so I guess we need to wait for an updated plugin?

This plugin for IntelliJ is awesome.

I find it quite easy to run both IntelliJ and Eclipse at the same time, mostly coding in IntelliJ and only switching to eclipse for tricky eclipse only tasks such as build/publish etc.

I'd say build is a quite essential feature. :)
I might not be the typical programmer but when I develop I build a LOT.... even when I'm not doing the test driven programming approach (sometimes I'm too lazy :) )

Something else which I use a lot is the app settings editor, so when the build issue is fixed, I'd say that one would be next on the list.... :)

You'll find the debugger in 2.3.x very useful at times. And being in the same edit/build/debug environment speeds things up.

True being able to step through the sources is a big enhancement. :)

Unfortunately plugin not maintained.

Is there any new alternatives?

The author does provide the source code, if you want to persist on not using Eclipse, you could ask the author to make you a conrtributor in the github repo and fix things yourself....

But I'd recommend to learn to love Eclipse and/or implement a plugin in Eclipse to improve on what the dev team provides you with. :)
