AntPlus.RadarTarget - Speed question

I want to append the threat information of the first vehicle from the radar to my Edge-Cycle data fields.
My tests with the VARIA RTL515 show that the approach speed (AntPlus.RadarTarget) is always a multiple of 3.040000 m/s - so 3.04, 6.08 etc....

This gives approximately jumps of 10km/h. Is this normal or should the result not be analog?

    For all who are interested in this case:

    I just finished a short test ride "in real world" with my RTL515 and logged all RadarTarget.speed values > 0.0 :  
    Result: only multiples of 3.04.
    But if you show the absolute vehicle speed on the device screen, it is not so noticeable...

    Would be interesting, if all Garmin radars act like this.

    See https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/w/wiki/10/app-approval-exceptions and safety awareness as using radar could be an issue.  Depending on how you use the data.

    "Safety Awareness

    Apps designed for safety awareness purposes, such as incident detection or use with a Varia radar, may not be listed in the interest of customer safety."

    Here is my data field playing with the Radar sensor. Really helps. Not about safety awareness. Love the stats showing how many cars passed me, and the distribution of car passes over the duration of the activity. I prefer absolute vehicle speed rather than closing rate. Note that triangulation can cause a false speed... for example, if you are on a bike path and it is tacking a car 50 feet to your side... as it gets close the reported speed will decline due to the triangulation effect. This was from my 108 mile ride Saturday.

    Really nice datafield!
    I had found it on store and studied it when I did my tests to see if your vehicle speeds also resulted from a multiple of 3.04 m/s. But since you also use the absolute speed, this was not possible to find out...

    Here is the data you are looking for.... so, yes. Range is also a multiplier of the binary data packet

    A new question about radar.

    can somebody explain, when threat triggers 2 ?
    I always get 1 (orange), extremly seldom 2 (red).
    RTL515.

    I tested it standing near a motor highway. Got speed display over 120 km/h, but always threat 1 (orange).
