Device 'fenix7' requires an SDK version of 4.2.0

I have returned to my development after a four or five month diversion and installed the latest SDK (4.2.4).

The built now crashes with heaps of issues, so to resolve, I returned to my previous version SDK 4.1.5 which I used for the last release and now am stuck with this :

Device 'fenix7' requires an SDK version of 4.2.0

Can anyone suggest is it about the Fenix 7 that now requires SDK 4.2.0 or later that has appeared in the last few months?

Starting with the 4.1.6 SDK, Type Checing is on by default, and if your code isn't set up for that, you'll likely see a bunch of warnings/errors.

The fastest way to see if that's what's happening, is to turn type checking off. You can do that globally in the Monkey C extention, or on a per-project basis by adding

project.typecheck=0

to the monkey.jungle for that project.

The "requires an SDK version of 4.2.0" is because devices like the fenix7 are System 6.

But it is crashing with that error in 4.1.5, not 4.1.6 so I'm confused!

And when I turn off type checking in the Monkey C extension, it still fails with that error.

I think it's something to do with the "hybrid" (touch and button) UI that is in the F7 and epix2 range.

If you use the current (4.2.4) SDK, do you still see the error? It's not touch+buttons. It's System 6 The f7 and epix2 are now System 6 devices.

OK, now that I have turned off type checking it builds on gthe fenix7 fine. I guess the glitch, causing the build to fail, in 4.1.5 will remain a mystery.
