Sorry, the app wasn’t sent to your device because we’re having trouble communicating

Hello,

I'm new in the development of garmin app and I tried to develop a datafiled (complex field , % of vVO2max):
https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/6be6ec0f-44c0-44b9-aa39-ced1546cb0d9

All is working fine with the simulator and sideload.. but after I uploaded and approved it, when I try to download it on my Fenix 3 (GC and watch are up to date), I get the following error (with mobile and express):
Sorry, the app wasn’t sent to your device because we’re having trouble communicating with our servers. Please try again later.
I also test with a friend who have 920 but he get the same error.

I wanted know if someone could give me some insight, tips, experience about this error.
I'm a lot angry because there are now log accessible server side, and the error from the side looks like "general error" and generic error message.

Thank in advance,
Jovi

Yes I tried what you explain but it not work.
I tried with other persons who have allalso up to date, but the result was the same.
Do you have any other solution? or could you check?

  • I'm checking with the store team to see if they can tell what's causing the error. I'll report back once I know more.

  • We have a bug on the app store that's causing an error when there are certain special characters in the app name. The was actually reported quite a while ago and I thought it had been fixed already (in fact, we do have a fix for it, but it was never applied to the store). For now, you should be able to avoid this problem by removing the '%' from your app name. Apologies for the trouble!

    Hi!

I have same kind of problem with my "Cardio Drift" data field app. This is the 2nd day this app been available for download but there are 0 downloads. I can not download this app. I think Garmin should verify that app is downloadable before approving apps. This is a very frustrating situation and un-specific error message!

apply the same fix (remove the % sign from your app name, eg change it by pct)
  • Thank you!
