Venu 2 on-device settings view

long press the bottom button and select watch face.  up/down to move to the one you want, and if it has on device settings, you see a pencil at the bottom.  Tap that.

Doing this in the normal watch mode an no activity recording at the moment is correct - holding the B (Menu/Back) button long will enter the settings menu of the Venu 2.

But in an activity data field doing this will open a submenu showing "Stop Live Tracking", "Navigation" and  "Bike Settings" and the settings wheel at the bottom to get main watch settings.

Thanks for the quick reply. I forgot to mention that the CIQ application that supports on-device settings view is a data field. Should it work the same also for data field applications?

I have a 945 LTE, but I assume the UI/UX for Venu 2 is similar:

1) Open the activity of your choice (e.g. Run), which I assume already has a CIQ app installed that has on-device settings

2) Open settings.

e.g. On Venu 2, hold the Back/Menu button (bottom button, on the right). On 945 LTE and other 5 button watches, hold the UP button (middle button on the left).

3) "ConnectIQ Fields" should be the 2nd item in the displayed menu (*), under "[Activity Name] Settings". Select this item. (* At least that's where it is on 945 LTE)

4) You will now be presented with a menu of all CIQ fields for the current activity which have on-device settings

As you can imagine, that's a lot of button presses/taps to get to the settings for a CIQ data field, but that's par for the course.

TL;DR the whole process gets kicked off by opening the activity settings menu -- once you're there, you should see an additional "ConnectIQ Fields" option.

Hopefully most users know how to open settings in general for their watch (although for sure I've talked to people who don't). Unfortunately, as efficient and reliable as buttons are, they're not intuitive.

It should be there but in fact opening the settings in an active acitivty on the Venu 2 will only show:

- Stop Live Tracking,
- Navigation and
- Bike Settings

and underneath the settings wheel to get to the main watch setup.

Just to double-check: you're sure that you've added a CIQ data field which has on-device settings to that activity?

If so, that seems like a bug to me.

Yes, in fact I tested it with 3 different data fields which should have settings.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Thanks to Cordyceps we found out that for Venu 2 the "ConnectIQ Fields" does not display when a data field supports the on-device settings. Here is the bug report:
