Updated BLE Getting Started Page

Tired of side loading I bought a RF52240 USB Dongle to experiment with Garmin IQ and BLE.

The page : https://developer.garmin.com/connect-iq/core-topics/bluetooth-low-energy/ does not list the versions of the tool chain that is expected to work and has only a link (broken) for the DK firmware not the dongle.

What is the best source of information.

nRF Connect v3.10, brings a JLink version more recent than the one documented. When i can flash the dongle, after removing the dongle, i still get "Error when fetching device versions: readFwInfo error" ... the app in the simulator will time out.

Well i am stuck.

Any help welcome.

It's got valid links to both hex files.

You need the nRF52840 dongle. I've never seen any reference to using a nRF52240. Was it a typo?

It doesn't use Jlink if I recall.

BTW, there is an issue I've seen where The sim has issues with the Nordic HW if you staft it from VS Code but works fine with Eclipse. This started with the 4.0.7 SDK. For me it's both my Win 11 desktop and laptop.

I reflashed my nRF52840 with the latest version of all the tools and it went fine. Last time I flashed it was a few years back with the tools that were available when this was first introduced.

It was a typo indeed.

Dongle led turn blue from the blinking red after flashing with connectivity_1.0.0_usb_with_s132_5.1.0.hex.

I am on osx but versions look similar.

Does the dongle work with CIQ if you use Eclipse?

Make sure you unplug it and plug it back in before trying.
