How do I set the output directory for a Build in Eclipse ?

I changed the directory structure above my project.

I can build the project, but the output files still go to old directory structure and the Settings Editor comes up with no settings for this project.

Where can I set the output for the project build so that it matches the new directory structure ?

I haven't messed with monkey.jungle at all so it's whatever it defaults to when a project is created.

It looks like I'm out of the woods.... at least until the next surprise.

Is the path to your workspace different? If so, maybe try creating a new workspace and then use file>import to get the projects from your old workspace.into the new one.

its right there in the build GUI box, at least it is on mine, or maybe I don't understand the question.

Ok, so "build for device". You can use "browse" there to change the path.

Also, for side loads, you may want to uncheck the two boxes you have checked You'll get a debug version of the prg with an easy to read stack trace if there's a crash.

I finally have things working again in large part due to your guidance.

Here's what it took -

- delete project from Eclipse

- copy project files to new folder

- import project into Eclipse from new location

- run Export Wizard and set the output directory to match the new project location.

I also tried running the Build for Device Wizard and setting the correct output directory there. That directed the .prg file to the new location but it did not have any effect on where output went when I built for testing with the Simulator.

The mystery here was.... where do you set the output directory that will be used when you build for testing with the Simulator. Apparently you need to use the Export Wizard and set the output directory there before builds for the Simulator will go to the desired directory.

In my hunting around I found a place in Run Configurations under the Common tab where you can set "Output File". It's not clear to me what that does exactly so I left it alone (it was blank). Maybe that can be used to explicitly set the output directory to be used for builds that will be run using the Simulator. Not sure.

good that you solved it, for future reference for anyone else with the same issue: it's important to use the browse button to set the folder (if you just type the folder it's not remembered)

Do you know what the "Output File" setting in the Common tab under Run Configurations does ?

It may have been the solution I needed all along but I'm hesitant to play with things now that I'm able to work again.

I don't use that, but I would suspect it's a log file with the console output

Unfortunately, this problem has mysteriously returned.

No conscious change on my part, just editing and building... occasionally restarting my computer.

Now, the output from Eclipse is going to the old directory structure again.

I tried the process that seemed to work before. No luck.

Does anyone actually know where the output directory is set, and where the simulator & settings editor get their idea of where they should find settings files ???????
