language cht

I've had error form era

Forerunner® 245: 5.60
Languages: cht

There is no cht in manifest. Is it zht? Should I create resources *.cht?

  • 繁体中文语言代码是zht

    <iq:language>zhs</iq:language>

                <iq:language>zht</iq:language>

  • You don't need to change anything. Internally, the compiler and runtime system use cht and chs for Traditional and Simplified Chinese language codes. We map zht to cht and zhs to chs internally.

  • Should I create resources *.cht?

EDIT: The comment below was in response to this ^.

I don't think so. Looking at the readme in the CIQ SDK directory, it looks like CIQ used to use cht/chs, but now uses zht/zhs (apparently, both are allowed). It's too bad that "cht" appears in the ERA report, though, as it seems to cause potential for confusion.

  • The OP was concerned that we were using cht/chs in the ERA reports, asked if he needed to change anything, and then showed that he has zht/zhs in his project manifest. I'm fairly confident that I'm correct in saying that he does not need to do anything.

I'm also pretty confident that that the compiler uses cht/chs internally because I'm looking at the source code that maps from zht/zhs to cht/chs right now.

  • Thanks Travis. When I said "I don't think so", I was actually responding to OP's question "Should I create resources *.cht?" Sorry for the confusion -- my bad.

I posted my reply before I saw your comment (posted 3 minutes prior). The gist of my comment was meant to be roughly the same as yours (of course without the insider knowledge) -- i.e. cht/chs and zht/zhs are interchangeable from the dev's POV.

If I had seen it first, I wouldn't have posted my comment at all. I debated deleting my comment, too. Probably should've. But then again, anyone who has email notifications still would've seen it, and it's arguable that deleting comments for no good reason isn't great forum etiquette.

EDIT: This is one of the cases where it would be nice if the forum made it obvious who you're replying to, although I could've also quoted what I was replying to in the first place.

  • I haven't noticed from forum about answers...

So if you map  zht/zhs to cht/chs internal you should remap cht/chs to zht/zhs again to not confuse dev. Everything should be consistent from the same point of view. I don't know what is in Garmin's code for me simple it's bug in Era.
