Lots of unfair developers (Garmin, where are you?)

Hello guys!

I am terribly annoyed by the fact that a bunch of similar applications appeared in the app store, in which not a drop of heart and effort was invested. At the same time, the number of such applications and developers is growing rapidly.

For example:

https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/developer/c506e11c-06a8-48a8-9c2f-441e3dd87234/apps

https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/developer/9600e368-ac57-4091-a52f-e45b6e507af5/apps

https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/developer/180d3966-8870-4362-af71-575b78c8d6b3/apps

https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/developer/3f5c726a-cf05-4c3a-b840-c315ccbd4bb8/apps

https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/developer/d4dd2adf-d651-4414-9984-01dc83420eb4/apps

Aside from their gaudy watch faces, what do all these developers have in common? That they use the KiezelPay payment system. For this, there is a separate group in Discord, where their curator gives advice on how to sell and what to do to increase your profit.

The developers release a large number of empty updates for their applications and winds up reviews from a large number of their devices. Obviously, all of his applications do not carry any aesthetic or unique meaning, and the developers are trying to sell it for real money. I am not satisfied with the fact that his applications are constantly shown in the list of popular ones, but we understand that this is only because they have given their applications a large number of positive reviews from their accounts. Please consider blocking these developers or limiting their stay in popular applications.

Thank you for attention! And please express your opinion. It seems to me that now a global problem is being born for the entire Garmin ecosystem, which does not pay attention to such developers and does not try to improve the app's rating and ranking system.

  • I know what is wrong :) How you rate personally competitors apps. Do you remember?

  • Yes I remember, but you started it
You have my contacts if you want to discuss this

  • It was reasonable, for very limited functionality and errors. But you started play unfair game. Now you are complaining for others tactics on CIQ store, just because you want to make money with your limited apps, why others can't?

But, beside of you historical behaviour, tons of spam is real bad in the CIQ store as it hide real good and unique apps for visitors.

Would be, if he wouldn't delete reviews every once in a while. :)

  • If someone does not understand what this person is talking about, then I will clarify. It was in the spring of 2020. This person and I, in parallel and independently with each other, were developing a widget for tracking statistics on coronavirus. He posted his application a few days earlier than I posted mine. At the same time, the number of downloads for my application was noticeably higher at first. At some point, I received a one-star rating notice without any comment. I don't know what errors this person is talking about in the application, but at that time I had no complaints. By the name of the user who left a one-star review without comment, I realized that it was him, to which I responded with a similar review. After that, we exchanged such responses several times, which ended the crisis. Judge us as you like, but if we are not right, then equally and mutually. This man is not whiter or fluffier than me.

I am 100% sure those are not real people or real reviews. Let's have garmin  check  that. Anyway, this plague is affecting all the store. Garmin needs to fix the bug that lets developers somehow review their apps.

    Also talking about spam?

    https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/developer/5eb82629-9993-405f-ad49-c1bc4b74df49/apps

    https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/developer/26e2534a-c3c8-44ea-9cb2-87e81c54dfdf/apps

The above guys for example, use a tool to generate "watchfaces". The problem is they just copy some random images from the web, drag and drop where the stats should be and that's it. But the quality of the image is horrible. Some of them are barely visible. There are several developers using that, or maybe the same one, who knows?

  • If you are talking about fake reviews for my apps, so I can give you screenshots of emails from a lot of these names, where I helped to these people.

    Let's have garmin  check  that.

    That's exactly what I want.

It's totally looks like spam and unfair using bugs of Garmin Store

Have a look at their "tool": https://garminer.com/all

I have no problem with them making hundred of apps, but they never use the garmin color pallete, and it just looks terrible on the watches. Also there is no trial, LOL.

This thing with trending is long before this guys came anyway. It seems to me a LOT of devs are using that bug. Even old respected guys. I've seen in the past months, some of the most downloaded apps, go from 5k reviews, to 1k. In two weeks they had 2k again and so on.

  • yes, I am not against their existence in the store, who needs it - he will find by the keywords "flower", "autumn" and so on

If these were high-quality works, would I really say a word? I don't know if you are a developer or not, but labor costs for making this dial are 10 minutes. Insert a picture, insert pre-prepared fields with steps, heart rate, etc. and to the store

And the worst part is that the developers cheat reviews for such applications. What is now obvious to everyone who is present in this topic is that Garmin should at least respond to the claims, and, as a maximum, respond to the situation with action.

  • I am going to make it is very simple to show the truth:

    downloads

    my widget: 23,482

    yours: 9,325
